Atrial tachycardia since ablation.

Hi. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Since my pulmonary vein ablation in October I have had one long episode of AFib and had my sixth cardioversion.

Since then I have had episodes of atrial tachycardia (resting heart rate between 110-140)

My calcium channel blockers - diltiazem -were doubled up and that worked for a week or two, but then the racing heart was back.

Before, the episodes would last two days and then I’d be ok, but now this is day three and my heart rate hasn’t come down.

Waiting for the arrhythmia team to call me back and just resting in the meantime.

Any comments would be really helpful.

Not unccmmon. Happened to me several times and mostly sorted with cardioversion (DCCV). Timing is about right.

Hi I too went in to tachycardia after my first ablation in November 22 after they did it they said that i had got a flutter which I didn’t have before the ablation, they altered my tablets then seven months later I had to have another ablation as it was just getting worse so my second one was last June which has been much better I am now seeing my consultant next month to see if he will discharge me.I hope yours settles down soon but as I understand it a lot of people end up needing a second one.

Thank you. I have been wondering if atrial tachycardia is the same as flutter? Can’t find the answer on Google!

I’m on verapamil. It’s the only thing that has worked to bring heart rate down.

Thank you for that. It’s really useful!

Verapamil 40mg three times a day and Flecanaide 150mg twice daily. 60bmp from a year of fast rate. I’ve just had ablation but when meds reduced it went straight back up to 170bpm

Hi! I’ve been put on the list for a second ablation and until then have been prescribed digoxin. 🙏🙏
