Quite and unusual occurrence I would think so you are very unlucky.

Post procedural pericarditis with ablation is quite common. Please see my post below.

I was aware of it being a possible complication prior to my ablation.

I just entered pericarditis in the search health unlocked at the top of the page.

healthunlocked.com/search/p...

Hopefully you will find some more information in there.

Best wishes

Yes. Common and do not worry. My arrhythmia nurse told me it's seen in up to 30% of all ablations*.

Post procedural Pericarditis usually is short and fleeting, but in some cases if left untreated can turn serious. I also was prescribed Colchicine, which is the preferred treatment. Just take it easy and I'm sure you're going to be just fine, but if symptoms keep persisting, of course bring it to the attention of your doctor.

The publication Heart Rhythm pegs the number at 10% and calls post procedural pericarditis "under recognized, and under reported"

For those that want to research the topic more please see citation below:

When my husband was given colchicine he was also given omeprazole to protect his stomach and of course had to have INR reviewed more frequently ( on warfarin)
