Hi I’m new to site. I had my ablation 2 weeks ago been having lots of pain and palpitations since. saw Eurythmic nurse Monday and she says I’ve got pericarditis started me on colchicine tablets as anyone else experienced this I read lots of positive outcomes but my whole experience wasnt good.

Quite and unusual occurrence I would think so you are very unlucky.
I was aware of it being a possible complication prior to my ablation.

Yes. Common and do not worry. My arrhythmia nurse told me it's seen in up to 30% of all ablations*.
Post procedural Pericarditis usually is short and fleeting, but in some cases if left untreated can turn serious. I also was prescribed Colchicine, which is the preferred treatment. Just take it easy and I'm sure you're going to be just fine, but if symptoms keep persisting, of course bring it to the attention of your doctor.
The publication Heart Rhythm pegs the number at 10% and calls post procedural pericarditis "under recognized, and under reported"

When my husband was given colchicine he was also given omeprazole to protect his stomach and of course had to have INR reviewed more frequently ( on warfarin)
