Hi Everyone need some information please. Going into week 6 of recovering from Pace Maker operation on 27th October. Its no picnic is it! Anyway still lots of bruising from being on warfarin I believe. Prior to op I had fallen over several times broke my wrist etc. Hence decision by cardiologist to have PM. Anyway I was told to reduce my Propanalol from 60 x3 to 30 x3. It has been absolutely fine until 5 days ago when I started having I thought Af but not fast just flipping adding beats. Carried on for 3 hours morning or evening.

So emailed my cardiolist who said go back to 40 which I have but back to square one no fainting but overwhelming tiredness. 30 x 3 was ok more energy getting on with life. So my question is what other drugs can be used. I am on Flecainide 50 x2 and amlodipine 5 x 1. I really can't carry on going back to where I was. The cardiologist said go back to 40 you have the pacemaker now. I don't want to feel tired all the time. Sorry for the moaning I know people have more difficulties but the last couple of years hasn't been great. Many thanks in advanced.

I had a pacemaker in September and was kept on the same medication as pre pacemaker. The first couple of months were fine, but this last couple of weeks I feel like missing beats and what almost feels like spasms in my diaphragm. Also very tired although I did feel a bit more chirpy when it was first done

Reading your post I wonder why you aren’t on bisoprolol as you are on flecainide. I know bisoprolol can make some people feel more tired but a small dose could maybe help

Try to see or st least speak with your EP

I hope you feel better soon

Hi, the P M squad at my local hospital seem v good and if I ring them they will usually see me with 2-5 days. I don't go through consultant, the PM squad are an independent set up. Perhaps give them a ring, a check up only takes about 15 mins so any cancellation they may fit you in.

yes I’m on flecainide 50 x2, apixaban x 2, bisoprolol which was 1.25 but after the pacemaker it was raised to 2.5, diuretic (which I don’t take if I’m going somewhere in the morning) levythyroxine 75mgs. I also take lansoprazole as and when needed. Oh and pravastatin at night, but I had never had high cholesterol and when the medics noticed they just said well now you’ve started might as well carry on!!!!!

At the moment I’m waiting for a reply from my EP with the latest developments of weird beats, etc. seems like ectopics every 3rd or 4th beat also it seems every time I eat.

Oh well I am nearly 80 so shouldn’t grumble.

Hope you feel better soon
