I celebrated 4 years of being AF free since my cryo-balloon ablation on November 5, 2019. I had the ablation about 16 months after my sudden AF diagnosis. My AF episodes would result in a HR of 180 or higher. I would chemically convert after 8 to 12 hours, but prescribed meds did little to control my episodes. My quality of life suffered. I still suffer from brief bouts of irregular heartbeats but never more than a few seconds. I also still get ectopics daily, but I hardly notice them now. I have not been on any heart meds since the ablation. At 57 and in good shape, I am not taking any anticoagulants as my Chad-Vasc score is 1. For anyone considering an ablation, I would highly recommend it.

That’s wonderful news, thank you so much for dropping by to let us know. Wishing you continued health and NSR!
It would be great to have any tips for how you looked after your heart following ablation. I’m just 9 weeks on from a cryoablation for persistent AF, still in NSR, feel great, but still cautious!

Long may your NSR continue 😊
So pleased for you.I am 9 months in NSR post ablation and do expect it to return. Not as fit as pre switch to Persistent but I am almost 3 years older and now 75 and still very cautious.
congrats! Love these posts that let us all see the positive outcomes, as can be scary otherwise 😍😍
We’ll done, it’s great to hear it’s worked for you….👍
Thanks for your post. I am 2 weeks from my ablation, and quite nervous in case I get complications or have overdone things too soon...but still hopeful it may have helped calm the AF beast!
Congratulations! Long may it continue.
I’m another ablation success story. Now in my 8th year AF and medication free.
Brilliant!
