I think it's quite common to have facial flushing after steroid injections. I had the same problem when I had a guided injection in my shoulder. It lasted a few days. I don't remember any raised BP at all. Perhaps you should contact your GP considering it's been nearly a week since your injection.
Thanks for your reply🙏I was with her today and I’m having a 24 hr bp monitor. I can’t get one till the 7th December! I was just wondering about others experiences
I had a bad reaction to one I was given to bring down swollen tonsils during an attack of quinsey. Latter was horrible but so was the reaction next day - shaking and sweating. I nearly passed out. As a matter of fact I suspect it triggered my first AF episode. I had the injection in January 2019 and was diagnosed with AF in the December of that year. For the entire year after the steroid event I had periods of feeling weirdly tired and fluttery. I guess I was lucky not to have a stroke. Hope you've talked to your GP. Personally I would not take steroids again unless a matter of life and death.
Sorry to hear all that happened to you. Good to hear you made it through. I guess steroids are good in certain circumstances but I won’t be taking them again. I have to say the rapid HR was scary. Today is the first day I feel normal which I’m thankful for and hopefully the effects are gone.
I have been taking a daily high dose of prednisolone for temporal arteritis since august and the side effects are awful and include night sweats. I have to get up and change my nightdress every night also the steroids have affected my voice, increased my heart rate and now I am in danger of developing steroid induced type 2 diabetes.
I take prednisone for lupus. I also have white coat syndrome, which means that my pulse and bp go up when I'm at the doc's, just psychosomatic, even when I think I'm relaxed, which can always be a factor with BP and pulse rate, also afib. In my case, I have paroxysmal afib, but haven't had an episode in many months since I lowered my prednisone dose, also changed my diet. I'm surprised nobody else reports having a fib worsened by prednisone. Anyway, hopefully you won't have to take it for long.
