Does anyone get terrible night sweats with afib? I was diagnosed in April and have been having really bad night sweats which are getting worse. I have tests for other illnesses but these have all been ok but still the night sweats continue. My doctor seems to think it could be to do with afib. Any thoughts? Thank you

Afib and night sweats
Hi Knittinganimals what meds are you taking.
I take the a betablocker and it suites me really well . I had occasional 'hot flushes' which I guess might be related to my meds but didn't bother about it. Than I saw an EP who decided to double the dose 2.5 to 5 mg daily to try to decrease my episodes of P-AF they didn't but the hot flushes increased dramatically to 4 or 5 a day. I am back on the original dose and feeling better with just the occasional hot moment 😊.
Hi, I take sotalol and edoxaban but have had the night sweats for several months now before these medications. My greatest fear is cancer but I’ve had tests and nothing has been found. Also hyperthyroidism which also causes afib has been ruled out so I don’t have a clue really. Thank you for reading my post. Best wishes
Wife suffers a lot with sweats at any time of day. We think its related to the AF meds shes on as they were listed as known meds that can cause sweats. Dr did check out her thyroid which was OK.
Thank you for your reply. I also have had thyroid tests and nothing came up. I checked my medications and it’s not listed as a side effect so back to the drawing board! Best wishes
I checked the following list for drugs known to sweaters google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc...
Three things come to mind anxiety (as you have recently been diagnosed), AF whilst asleep or sleep apnea. Plenty of suggestions on this Forum for these issues.
What meds are you on? I'm on Eliquis and it does cause me to break out in a sweat once in awhile and it raises my temp too. People have different side effects from these meds. You can go to drugs.com or Rxlist.com to see side effects.
Thank you I checked the web sites you recommended and nothing was mentioned. I take edoxaban and sotalol. Best wishes
Sometimes people can have side effects that aren't listed. I never broke out in sweats before the Eliquis. What happens to me. I'm way past menopause so it's not that.It does have a raise in temp listed in side effects. You know your body and if things are happening that didn't happen before the meds, whether or not it's listed anywhere, could still be a side effect. Nothing is set in stone. And as another poster said it could be from the Afib itself. Just keep tabs and see when you seem to have problems. The drugs.com website is run by the FDA and if you feel you are having some side effect not listed you can report it to them. Wish you the best. People here are very kind and helpful.
I would always have cold sweats when in AF. I am also menopausal and suffer from night sweats frequently.
