One Month post 2nd ablation

hi all

It’s one month since my 2nd ablation. Rf this time at uchw with prof osman. No episodes and I feel fine. I’m still taking the apixaban and the 60mg of diltiazem twice a day. Wonder when I stop these ?

The ep (not mr osman) recommended I take them for a month or so until my heart settles after the trauma of the procedure Got a telephone appointment with mr osman early December

I think most of us prefer to continue anticoagulation for life unless the CHADSVASC score was zero and it only prescribed for the duraation of the ablation.

I'd give your specialists secretary a ring. She will be able to ask him on your behalf and clarify whether you are meant to stop both meds now or not.

That's good news to hear that you are doing so well after your second ablation. Long may that continue.

Cheers Jean. Havnt had a beer yet though. That’s gonna be the acid test I think

It certainly will.

Perhaps do a little study beforehand to see which makes of beers contain the least artificial additives. Any containing Sulphites would be a definite no.

Take care.

Glad went well. How was procedure? As you may recall I'm possibly looking at RF in March 24. As far as Apixaban is concerned my understanding is to remain on it indefinitely if your score warrants it.

Never taken diltiazem. However I have remained on flecanide since my ablation. Was meant to be for 6 months but got extended. Proff O prefers patients to continue with medication to retrain the heart into nsr he said.

Hope all continues well..xx

Procedure went well. It did hurt though every time he burnt the area. 36 burns I had apparently. Prof o was brilliant. Talked to me and made me feel at ease. Glad I had the 2nd as he found gaps in one of the pv. Hope it all goes well for you I’ll carry on the tablets till my appointment in December

Great to hear - still waiting to hear when to expect my first …7 months so far and still no date (I’m not what I’d call especially patient 😂)

Fingers crossed for you. I had to wait about 9 months at cov uchw
