Post Ablation

Had my ablation approximately 6 months ago now the procedure was carried out at Liverpool Broadgreen Hospital by Mr Gupta

I’d previously been on the pill in the pocket (Flacanide) treatment for my AF but things soon began to get worse, soon I felt I was going into AF almost every day and it lasting for hours on end even during excessive exercise my HR would reach around 220 (I’m 53 years old) and stay like that for a couple of hours afterwards

On the advice of my consultant It was decided that I should have an ablation

Afterward the procedure Mr Gupta came to see me he informed me that I was actually in AF on the operating table and he had actually watched as he turned the receptors off that were causing the problem

Almost immediately after I felt amazing, my sleep had improved I had loads more energy and I’ve not had a single episode since, I couldn’t thank Mr Gupta enough he’s given a big part of my life back to me

I thought it would be nice for me to share my experience with this forum and even if it helps just one person with AF it’s been worth it

Great news Gary, if I need an ablation I hope I will be in constant AF as it gives the EP such a good steer rather than using guess work or overdoing it to be sure.
