Well I nearly made it 2 years but the AFib is back, my heart rate doesnât race off like it did before and stays in the 60-70 range (my resting heart rate is 45-50) but itâs jittering all over the place. Started while watching Wimbledon, who knew tennis could be so exciting đ¤Ł.
Anyway I had an appointment with my consultant luckily at the same time and he has put me back on his list at St Barts for another Ablation as I canât take medication due to low heart rate. This time will be general anaesthetic as he wants to do a lengthier procedure đł Iâm quite happy with that as I had sedation last time and it was horrendous, so here we go again!

I think some people react to sedation better than others, some people it works very well and they donât remember but with others it doesnât work so well, if youâre one of the unlucky ones then itâs blooming terrible đŁ
That is what they told me and so I am sorry that youâre not one of the lucky ones. When they get talking about which type of sedation and whether or not, itâs anaesthesia or whatever I am completely lostâŚ
When you wake up if youâre like me, youâll still be so drowsy. Youâre probably sleep for most of the first day.
my procedure took four hours, so itâs not a quick thing.. here at least.
I had a problem with my blood pressure dropping very low after and I passed out lying down⌠And then they had a hard time getting my blood pressure app that is me. I donât think that is normal..
Thank you so much đ I have to be at Royal Stoke for 7.30am in the morning and they will go through my groin whilst sedated. Just want it over & done with now xx
I have to have the right hand side of the heart treated first for the Atrial flutter, then they are going to the back of the heart to freeze it ⌠thatâs all I know! They say it can take 2.5-4 hourâs depending, then I have to wait for 4 hours afterwards to be collected. X
interesting ⌠from what i think I know, and itâs very little⌠Iâm going into the right side of the heart, is much easier than breaking into the left side and going into the pulmonary veinsâŚ
No, it will be a day case, hopefully đ¤ if no issues. I have had to have an echocardiogram, ecg & lung function tests before this, I just want it over with now so I can resume my golf. I had a Cardioversion last October, it lasted 8 months but then the Flecainide caused the Atrial flutter, so they took me off that and started me on Amiodarone alongside my bisoprolol , my HR has been ok since, but this drug is not a nice drug and my cardiologist doesnât want me to remain on it long term x
