This is interesting . From NICE

GuidanceDecember 2022: We have been informed that the supply of KardiaMobile to the NHS has been paused while the company works towards meeting the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC). NHS England are supporting the company in this process.NICE has therefore decided to temporarily withdraw this guidance at this time. Any devices that have already been purchased can continue to be used.We will continue to monitor any developments and will update interested parties if the situation changes.

Hi Kalgs I read this some time ago and gather it is about technical security and data protection to which the NHS has to adhere .

It doesn't concern me in the least, if someone wants to hack into my Kardia (if that is even possible ) and steal my readings they are welcome to them.

Thank you for posting this kalgs. It's a pity as the Kardia is such a useful tool for catching the elusive episodes which happen at home, etc.

I think doodle's post explains it - I googled DTAC and it would seem to be a data protection issue.

No axe to grind. I know of at least one practice that’s not taking any readings from the Kardia seriously. I will still carry on using my Kardia strap and the 6L. I would be grateful for no further responses please.

It only applies to Kardia devices provided by NHS, not the ones we buy ourselves.

No difference in devices .

We don’t know why they are taking this action it could be about the accuracy of the device itself.

I will make it clear. I’ve just posted this because I came across it when I was talking to a GP friend.

I recently read an article (cannot remember where) that there might be some issues with electrical impedance devices such as Apple Watch, fitbit, etc., that might interfere with implanted devices such as pacemakers.

As to UK guidelines, no clue. But NICE seems to be concerned with cost versus level of care.

Here's more in depth info on DTAC: nice.org.uk/about/what-we-d...
