AV node ablation

hi all I thought I would let you know I had my AV node ablation last Friday. If you have read

My posts you will realise I was scared silly about it as it is so final.

Dr Graham at LGI was amazing as were all the staff. They were so careful to make sure I was as calm as I could be.

The procedure went well. I can now breathe much easier. I’m still tired but I walked across my road to the shops yesterday which I daren’t do up till now for fear I would pass out!

My pacemaker has to be tweaked over the next six weeks and I will have to build up my strength and stamina but I feel much more positive now that I will be able to do that.

If anyone is in doubt about having this procedure as I was I would say go ahead!

I feel as though I have a future now.

Good luck everyone. I will keep you updated

Xxx

what a positive post, I’m so pleased the procedure went well and you were able to keep calm. Remember lots and lots of rest and don’t be tempted to do too much as your heart will not be happy. x

my breathlessness is better but I’m still very tired. Did you have to rest much or were you okay straightaway ?

Thanks

Vicki

How are you feeling now ? Doc recommended I get AV node ablation.Im just worried it will be another failed op as had 3 ablations.Im 69.

I felt better more or less straightaway but am still breathless. They turned my pacemaker down to 50 bpm and I thinks that’s too low for me. I’m finding it difficult to get an appt to see someone. At least I don’t feel dizzy or as if I’m going to pass out. Still fatigued but again not as bad . I was hoping it would get even better.

If they’ve recommended av ablation I’m assuming you’ll have a pacemaker fitted first. I had mine at the end of November 22 then the ablation feb 23 .

Both ops were fine. My cardiologist couldn’t promise me how well it would work but said I should be better which I am - not just as good as I’d hoped.

Hope this helps

Vicki
