My grapevine has told me that plans are afoot for an actual real live Patients Day this year on 8th October. This will be the first since 2019 so expect fireworks, dancing girls and a Rod Stewart performance. (Well maybe not and you have to put up with me in a tutu and Flapjack in his pink floral dress. )
I'm guessing it will be in Birmingham (England - sorry to our colonial cousins) as it always has been, so put a note in your diary and make sure you save it. As soon as I know more I will report..

Forget the patients day. I would go just to see you and flapjack in all your finery. Now that would be worth every penny and this year’s Christmas cards 🤣
Hi Bob, any chance you could elaborate on this for newbies please? Like for whom the Patient Day will be for (afib or more general), for general public or just fans of William Shakespeare and Rod Stewart? NHS or AF Association? Thank you 😊
If it follows normal procedure there will be areas for all types of arrhythmias. STARS, Arrhythmia Alliance and AFA all at the same venue with specific talks relating to each condition . The last one we had I'm pretty sure people could mix and match. Patient's Day is the Sunday before the main conference for medical delegates from around the world which has existed since 2007. Arrhythmia Alliance are the umbrella organisation .
This is a gotta go - I'm 100% in. BobD and FJ can have the final dance together to Rod Stewart's 'Da Ya Think I'm sexy' The mind boggles and this alone would be worth the price of a ticket.
sounds great, do you think there is any chance of surgical ablation being represented? I’d be happy to give a patients perspective and I’m sure mt hunter if he is available would be happy to give the surgeons perspective. As his video I posted shows he is very supportive of the EP approach and believes surgery complements this.. I think it’s sad so few people know and I’m excited that small numbers of AFA members across England are now being referred to him on NHS.
