Covid booster?

After quite a few months without an AF episode I had my covid booster Sunday. Since then the episodes havent stopped although I dont think its totally down to that, they had started to creep in, usually around my eveni g meal. My dilemma is, do I report them as side affects to the Dr , the leaflet talks of increased or erratic heart rate being a dangerous side effect or do I assume they are linked to my body fighting an infection which iften triggers AF anyway?

Report. If you aren’t already it’s also worth getting the Zoe app as they are tracking all COVID vaccine reactions as a research project. The advantage being that the study will look at 10,000’s of reactions from many people who don’t report.

I had a massive stroke 3 days after my one and only booster. I have no idea if it was related to the booster. But it has definitely made me apprehensive about getting another booster. I will add my cardiologist only had me on aspirin at the time. Big mistake on his part! I can’t recall if I had a lot of AFib the two days prior. I know I felt horrible for two days and woke up on that third day feeling good, until bam!

Don't get another one if you want a long life. Good luck!

At this point in time, I’m not planning on getting another one. Though my chances of another stroke have been greatly reduced by my Watchman.

Taking part in an experiment such as this always carries unknown risks, i would say dont get any more boosters, simply far too risky as has been evidenced, i do hope you recover well and soon , so many people i know suddenly took heart problems shortly after , especially, boosters, its entirely up to you though.

Thank you for your input, and thoughts, appreciated! I far prefer to mask up during our Covid upsurges. I've done that from the very start, so has my husband.

hi, evidence also shows masks dont prevent covid, when everyone was masked up the numbers were supposed to be skyrocketing, you have only to look at heads of country meeting up with no masks , to make you wonder why we were all told to mask up ,and the vaccine certainly didnt stop transmission ,as is also evidenced, only thing that probably curtailed spread was staying indoors with no contact from anyone, and thats also debatable.

Report. Evidently, Scandinavian countries have already restricted by age access to boosters as not worth the risk. No doubt the UK/USA will be last on to that one.

Definitely report — you can do so direct if you encounter pushback from your medical professionals...

yes you need to report this.

You should definitely report. Pharmacovgilance bodies like VAERS and the Yellow Card system run by MHRA are what is known as "passive" reporting systems ie they sit and wait for reports to come in. Studies have shown that there is a massive under reporting factor. Nobody really knows how great this is but estimates range from only 1% to 10 % of adverse reactions being reported for drugs and vaccines alike. So it is very important to report.

It was 5 years since my last PAF then had my booster a couple of days later, light headed and after a week went to doctor and was told I’m back in AF. Cardiologist said possible but more likely coincidence. Now I’m not so sure.

Is this booster #4?

KaliBill profile image
KaliBill in reply to Cookie24

yes, didnt have any issues with vaccine or first booster but they were all pfizer. This booster was moderna and is meant to deal with omicron strain. Ive had a bad cold all week since having it done Sunday, Maybe coincidence , lets be honest with AF theres a number if things we each know can contribute to our own episodes then there are all the unknowns!

mine was 4th vaccine too, all have been Pfizer.

Please report this using the yellow card scheme. I did not even get as far as the first booster after a very frightening reaction to the second vaccine. I have not had any further Covid vaccines but did get an antibody test which was positive and indicated that at some point I’d had the actual virus.

do whatever you feel keeps you safe. We are all different to be sure. I do still mask up. But i keep away from people if i can.

Report your symptoms. I was ok with my inoculations until i had the covid and flu ones together. Different arms but same time. Boy did i feel.ill ! And my af symptoms got worse from then on too but was that a coincidence? Shant be doing that again anyway.

Wishing you well.
