Covid booster side effects?

I had my Pfizer covid booster on Thursday. On Monday I woke up with AF, the first AF attack I've had in 18 months.

Previously I'd been in and out of AF until the right dose of Flecainide and Bisoprolol was reached, since then I've been totally stable in SR.

I also played golf that morning and had sharp foot pains, but I was back in sinus rhythm at the end of the game. Perhaps this was a bit of inflammation etc. from the jab?

I'd be interested to know if anyone had any similar experiences after this jab?

Pleased to hear you are back in NSR, probably golf with all the walking helped. Hopefully it is just a one off but please keep us informed.

Thanks, I did read that arthralgias are not uncommon after booster, just wondering what form they might take....Keep well

Yes I certainly had A spell of AF following my booster. Did wonder if it was linked to the jab

I had what seems like pericarditis or myo after the 2nd AZ jab which went on for a few months. Main thing was constant tachycardia, plus all the other symptoms. I sat it out at home and was just careful what I did.

I'm now wondering what to do about booster for obvious reasons, I've just been offered it. I'll either got for it and keep my fingers crossed, but I'm going to get an antibody test done first to try and see whether I really need it.

Also might wait for these treatments that are hopefully coming out soon. Not sure when soon is though!

Antibody tests are a waste of time and money. It is normal for antibodies to wane over time and rate of waning is very individual. The important factor is B and T cell immunity . The jury is still out on how long this lasts after vaccination but it can last a long time after natural infection. Some of the victims of the original SARS still had this after 17 years!

Yes, the scientists I follow all say the same.

I'll probably still have the test though, just to see the results out of interest.

If antibodies are low I guess that means pretty well nothing, but if they are high it will tell me I don't really need a booster yet. That's how I read it.

Your booster is only a half dose and can be a different vaccine so check on that - don't know whether that will make things better or worse. I had pfizer vaccines first and Moderna as booster about 3 weeks ago - no problems though now I read that a very few people are getting myocarditis after Moderna - though not after booster half dose (yet?). Hard to know what to do isn't it?

I had mine (Pfizer) on Saturday. No effects at all, except for a slightly stiff arm muscle for a few hours.

So your booster was fine, but did you have problems with the original vaccine?

It's people who had problems that I need to hear from. Most people won't, we know that.

Thanks

ALL of you need a D-dimer test for micro blood clots. Then you'll know the truth.

I had pfizer booster jab a couple weeks ago. First two, I had nothing to report. After the booster, I had some issues. Headache, fatigue, irritability and anxiety with ectopics for a few days after. However, I'll never be sure if it was the booster jab or life's jabs. It's always something. Roll with it.

Good philosophy, I'm really hoping it was the jab as I thought my meds had successfully held AF back.....brought down to earth now, AF always lurking in the shadows....

“Life’s jabs” 🤣🤣

I had three Pfizer jabs - number two and three put me down for 2-3 days each time with horrible chills, fever, achiness and extreme tiredness. I have a pacemaker so no AF symptoms. Frankly, if my immune response is any indication, getting covid without the vaccine would likely have put me down.

Yes. Hi there. Hadn’t had AF for 8 years. 2 weeks after having covid booster, it started again and now I am in long term meds. No one at the hospital asked about a booster. Guess when you get past 60 it’s all put down to age. Waiting to see a cardiologist. I phoned the AF nurse and she said it hadn’t occurred to her before but I was the second person that day to query it. Will still recommend having the booster though. Vaccines save lives.
