No, I don't think that's a good idea. At least I wouldn't agree to having both jabs at the same time.

Can I ask why Jean please? I’m due my flu jab in 3 weeks and wondered if I would be offered covid with it. I was questioning it in my own mind without any reason but can help wondering about the effects. x

Because of how ill I felt after having each of these jabs before. To have that feeling combined, well no thanks! Too much of a shock to the body n my mind.

I was offered both together last year and I said no, will do again this year.

Hiya mrgwair567,Yep, I've just had a text message from my surgery offering me this starting on Saturday 17 Sept. No reply required, just turn up, first come first served - sorted.

I'm going to have both at the same time. I have no underlying issues, I've never had a reaction to the Covid jabs, some years I get a mild reaction to the flu jab depends what's in it ? No worries

👍John

Thanks John! I think I prefer to have the jabs separately, although I haven’t had any side effects with either

I'm with you John. Apart from a sore arm never had any issues with any of my jabs.

Not for me, too much of an assault on my immune system which is dodgy after just one of those shots. I insist on at least a week apart.

Me too! However in my surgery says it only has one designated day reserved for these jabs (24th September)at the moment. The alternative being attending a vaccination centre , which I wouldn’t mind

I did not have them together last year, and I won't this year. At least a week apart if not more.

For the last couple of years I’ve taken to getting my flu jab earlier by booking at Boots. It was still free up to last year, but I’m not sure if I might need to pay this time round. Then when the Covid shots roll around to the 65-75 group, I will have had my flu jab already. Will also get that protection a bit sooner. Took until December in the first year I was eligible.

Thanks! I will make enquiries at my local pharmacy for my flu jab.

I am the same as you. I use Boots for my flu jab and have it booked for 26th September. As for covid booster, I am I that age group so have not been offered the 4th jab yet. I intend holding out for the new one that has just been announced.

When I asked about this the GP insisted that there was no additional risk. That said, I doubt there is much data to go on. In your situation I would be guided by previous reactions to either vaccine. If there were no problems I would probably go ahead. I had a lot of ectopics and (perhaps) more AF following the last Pfizer vaccine and am not looking forward to the impending one.

My afib got worse after my covid booster so I don't think I'll be having another

We have had ours combined for the last 2 years and no problems (thank goodness and touch wood)

I had the shingles jab and flu jab At the same time. The only problem I had was a big lump & soreness. don’t remember which jab did it. I don’t know about you but I feel a little off after the flu shot anyway. I do believe in it though. I do not believe in boosters for Covid not taking those. Covid is still alive and well here although no one‘s talking about it this time. The good thing is it is not the original instead it seems to be like the flu. Some people barely have the sniffles others become really ill but again not like the original. You have to follow your heart

I had both at same time late last year and went straight back into AF.

Will be having them at least two weeks apart from now on. No firm evidence it was the jabs that were responsible but just as a precaution

Remember everyone is different in how they react to any jabs. One may have no problems but that's how their body reacts.

I hope mine does the same. Not heard anything yet. We have provisionally booked a flu jab in early October with Boots as we thought we would be going away later in October and might miss the surgery. We are not likely to go away now as have cataract appointments.

I had both together last March- no problems!

I’ve never had any problems with a flu jab and only a slight problem with the first Covid jabs but no problems with the others so would have no problem having them both at the same time.

I had both together last year no problem at all.

I was advised to wait at least 2 weeks between the two (South Africa) I also had to wait six weeks between my pneumococcal jab and Covid booster. We have pneumococcal vaccinations every two years here.

I had my flu jab at local pharmacy last September & covid jab 3 weeks later. I was concerned that having the 2 together seems a lot for immune system to cope with at once. Hope to do same this year.
