Hi it might be a silly question but iam worried about having the flu jab! I’ve never had one to this day .
Iam worried that if I have it my extra beats and fluttering that I have most days will get worse , Iam not taking any meds for this at the moment ...but has anyone had any bad effects from the jab ....

The first time I had a 'flu jab I felt mildly uncomfortable for 24hrs, but that is all in over 20 years of getting it free at work. Having seen what full blown 'flu does to people for several weeks, and the length of recuperation, the jab would have to be pretty bad for me not to have it.
Not round here they too have a shortage. I will just have to keep safe and wait my turn. When I phoned the surgery they were very vague on how much a priority I am.
Was only diagnosed with AF 2 months ago, and, like you, was a bit wary of the flu jab, in case it started up the horrible AF feeling. Got the jab yesterday, an had no problem at all (so far touch wood). Please just go for it.
Iam glad for you , thank you for your reply, I’ve had missed beats and fluttering since I was 31 Iam not 67, been under Prof Shilling at Barts for quiet a few years,, I dont thnk they have known what to do with me over the years, tried Ablation but sod law they couldn’t bring on the AF ...I’ve had lots of sleep less nights over30 odd years, lots of trip to A&E thinking this is it 😨
People say try not to panic but I still do, but I do try to do my breathing which helps. When I got took into hospital few years ago , my heart was racing 130 beating I felt like I was going faint (130 is nothing compare with some poor people) but the consultant gave me a top of a plastic syringe and told me to blow hard into The small hole ,well it worked my heart started to calm down...so when I bad attack I found blowing into my grandkids Capol syringe it works too, Take the push stick though ... it might help some , just a tip...so good to read that’s it not just you, there’s always some one worse off
Thank you @Dreary63 and thanks for the tips too. Have had this for years but it was never caught until recently. And reading some comments on this site, there are loads of people much much worse than me, and good luck to them all, and to you. Take care.
We usually get jabbed, and I'm glad it's not a live virus like a shingles jab IS a live virus (many problems with that Shingles vaccine!)! We got our flu jab earlier this week, no arm soreness, no swelling, no feeling hot in the jab area, and no AF.
My health provider is offering one flu vaccine in one jab, or a "multi" combination of flu vaccines in one jab.
They ran out of the "multi" flu vaccine, which was offered to seniors or people with other medical issues, and had to be recommended by their primary care physician. I'm hoping with most people wearing face masks, and our new habit of MORE frequent hand-washing, we can avoid the flu--but got jabbed just to stack the deck. I hope we don't have to go back for the multi-flu jab.
Both my wife and I had the jab two days ago with no problems. A little soreness at the jab site but that is gone now. I have been getting the flu vaccine for at least 10 years now with no problems. No colds either for that matter. I think with all the mask wearing going on now in my community, flu would have a hard time getting a foothold here.
