NO AFIB WITH COVID… SURPRISINGLY

Hi guys and ladies. After evading catching covid since it first appeared on the scene and feeling very lucky and thankful for that I have eventually managed to pick it up after all😡, despite all my face mask wearing etc and turning into a recluse regarding socialising and the likes. because my biggest fear of any infection/ virus etc is maybe triggering a AFIB episode.

But I must admit I have not had an easy ride with this covid now for over a week.! My main problem has been a horrific headache/ pain that stabs you on every movement from bending to even just turning my head from side to side.!! I know us men are wusses when it comes to pain but I smashed my leg up a few years ago in motorcycle accident and needed surgery etc and that was not as bad as this.!

my AFIB has never shown it’s face throughout my covid which again had really surprised me and I’m so grateful it’s let me have time to deal with the headaches.

Doctor sent me some pain killers today to be going on with and hopefully it will all work out ok.?

But it just proves our AFIB is a weird creature.? Best wishes all. Ron.👍

The hearts arrhythmias are a funny thing , can I ask did you get vaccinated with mRNA ? If so did you get any serious side effects ? The mRNA vaccine , and covid itself can effect the heart , infect so many things can effect the hearts natural time clock , so with some woth AF or other

Arrhythmias it seems while they get

Other symptoms of f covid , or d you heave heart

Issues it can either way , can make them worse , or can mAke

Them less , no one seems to know which way it’ll go or can explain it .

Sadly many people with normal hearts , are now

Suffering heart

Problems as a side effect from the mRNA vaccine and also if they catch covid , vaccinated or not

Well spoken Steve I agree with your comments completely

Hi Steve. Iv had Astra Zeneca jabs. And pzizer booster. Thankfully didn’t have any real problems with them.👍 I actually felt awful when I had the flu vaccine.!!!!!! I have friends who work in the health system and my partner also works in the hospitals and I’m hearing of young folk in hospital with covid are actually complaining of missed beats etc and Arrythmia obviously due to the effect of the infection on the body and also maybe other co morbidities they also have.?

I can honestly say that I never want this covid again.!!

Doesn’t make much difference if you are on immune suppressants 😔 but I try anyways…

SO weird! I had the pains, they are horrible. My worst was in my back. Hope you recover very soon but great news it didn’t trigger your heart. I have to say 3 months on and I seem to be OK so thankfully no long COVID, which unfortunately my sister is still suffering 14 months on.

Get well soon.

Thankyou very much CDreamer.👍The head pain was horrible. Worrying to be honest.? No matter how calm I tried keep myself after a few days I honestly had to call hospital because I thought am I having a stroke or something 😳

I nearly got my funeral plan out yet again.? My funeral plan has been in and out more than a fiddlers elbow.??🤪

I've not heard of people having pains with covid, but both you and CD have said you did. Must ask my granddaughter if she had them, she started with it last week. A friend's daughter died last Monday with covid too, don't think she had the vaccine! Just waiting for my turn to come and guess everyone is the same. Thank goodness for lateral flow tests.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Jetcat.

Sorry about your friend’s daughter. I know of people that have died following the vaccine. Coincidental maybe, but that is the case. Myself, I had covid a couple of months ago. I’m not vaccinated. I felt a bit rough for a couple of days.

Still only got limited sense of smell as a side effect

I heard of a young man locally who died from having the AZ vaccine. I've always been anti most jabs, but begrudgingly had all three of the covid ones - was too scared not too! Remember our first lock-down when the streets were mostly deserted and it was like something out of a sci-fi film! We were terrified to mix with other people and I remember my daughter and son in law coming to see me on Mothers Day and talking to me from a distance on the driveway. It was like the country had been struck with the plague. Thank goodness for the milder Omicron now.

Hope your sense of smell comes back.

Yes I remember those early days.? It was so like a film wasn’t it.?

Jetcat profile image
Jetcat in reply tojeanjeannie50

Thankyou jean, with luck you may not catch it.?I was just literally just getting over my yearly bout of bronchitis and I’m sure this is why It pounced on me because my system had taken a battering and was low on fighting anything.???👍

That’s my look at it anyway. You never know.👍

No how you feel. Five days of the headache from hell. Convinced myself I was getting a brain tumour! No Afib at all. Covid over, Delta variant. Today, woke up in Afib! 😱

Oh no Hylda! Hope wears off soon x

Bless you Hylda, Hope you soon feel better and that your darned heart starts behaving. xx

Jetcat profile image

Hope you’re back in sinus soon.👍xI shouldn’t laugh but I know exactly what you mean with the brain tumour thing.???

I was also convinced it was a tumour or brain haemorrhage. I was holding off from coughing at all costs but one evening I coughed and the pain in my head somehow turned my legs into elasticated camping poles.?

My knees gave way and I fell to the floor and broke my finch house open. When I came round after the lights in my eyes had stopped flashing.?? thought I’d died and was looking at little angels flying around.?

There were my 10 finches flying around the room And I didn’t have the energy to catch them.😳

Oh Jetcat bad luck! I feel for you after all your precautions. It's almost as if we are doomed to get IT eventually.Hope you get relief from the headache soon.🤕

Indeed AF is a strange beast 🙄

Jetcat profile image
Jetcat in reply towilsond

Thankyou very much wils. Yes it certainly is a strange thing is our AFIB mate. You go AF free whilst you Body is taking a battering from a virus, But yet you can be sat there reading a nice book etc feeling great then all of a sudden your heart starts dancing for hours 😳😳😳

Of Covid I believe, that's what she was taken into hospital for. Don't know all the details and wouldn't like to ask at this early stage.

Hope you get better soon. Do you know if it's Delta or Omicron?

Jetcat profile image
Jetcat in reply toAuriculaire

I did ask just out curiosity but they didn’t know. They did give me a number to ring to find out but as yet I haven’t bothered.!I would guess it’s the omicron as test and trace told me it’s is the prevalent one by far.😳

Best wishes for a full recovery Ron. How awful that, in spite of your precautions, you caught the horrible thing. I still keep away from people and wear a mask if I am forced to go out.

Jetcat profile image
Jetcat in reply toFinvola

Thankyou very much Finvola. I’m still going to keep up with the masks and hand washing and all the safety tips etc.👍

I just wonder who decides that and how? I have underlying conditions, as you know, but had I died I would have classed my death as from COVID ie: as a direct result of being infected. My underlying conditions may have made me more susceptible but it would have been being infected with COVID which did the damage.

CDreamer profile image
CDreamer

Well on all the death certs I’ve seen there are spaces for multiple causes of death ie my father died of pneumonia, we didn’t even know he had that, but also listed were renal failure, heart failure & CDiff.

Primary reason was multiple organ failure caused by kidney disease. I believe it’s the primary reason which goes to the stats. Things may have changed though since 1996?

jeanjeannie50 profile image
jeanjeannie50 in reply toCDreamer

True CD, my dad went into hospital because of a stroke, but we were told pneumonia was the cause of his death. We didn't know that he had that either.

Well my granddaughter had had two negative lateral flow tests and felt better. She was going back to work tomorrow, but started feeling ill again today and is testing positive again! I really don't like the sound of that.

I had covid last year, I was really poorly for 5 weeks and no afib, I was then diagnosed with cancer, had an operation and radiotherapy apart from one episode of ectopics during radiotherapy my heart behaved perfectly. Yep AF is strange creature 😅

Jetcat profile image
Jetcat in reply toDenise-

Wow, that’s amazing. Going through all that stress and illness etc but yet you’re heart behaved itself.👍👍👍 x

The law was changed after the shipman cases too.! It went from just doctor signing death form to 2 separate doctors not from the same practice signing. When it’s covid related it goes back to just one doctor signing. I suppose it’s to speed disposal up.?
