I would like to know if others have had an issue with covid vaccinations and AFIB. Recently i had the first astrazenica shot and six days later I had an AFIB session lasting 4 hours and terminated utilising flecatab. In the following days i had three further AFIB sessions of much the same pattern.
In October 2020 i had the first AFIB session and then no further occurrences until August 2021 after the vaccination.
Since this group of AFIB sessions my chest has settled with no further symptoms and this leaves me in a dilemma regarding the second dose. Has this happened to anyone else.
Thanks for any help on this.

I have recieved 3 Pfizer jabs and have had no arrythmias subsequently. I have afib controlled with Tikosyn. Whether or nt this applies to the AZ vaccine is anybody's guess. However the consequences of contracting Covid19 are far worse than short periods of afib.
Thanks Gilli, from the responses and the lack of anyone reporting issues like mine it appears that this is my personal situation rather than a more widespread response to the vaccine.
There have been quite a few reports here of AF issues after vaccination, being the main reason why I have postponed having any jabs. Having followed independent web sites for a while I am reasonably optimistic that alternatives will become available in the next 12 months.
Thanks second try I had a bad reaction and my daughters is even worse. That is two out of the four adults with unfortunate outcomes. So am very hesitant about the second at this stage.
Six days after my first AstraZeneca I went into AF permanently but still had the second jab. This was back in January but I had a cardioversion last Tuesday and I’m now back in rhythm but I’ve been on Amiodarone for the last six months which I don’t like. Hope everything goes well for your second jab.
Thanks for the note Redders and sorry for your experience with AF. Hope the normal rhythm is the new normal for you. I have had troubles with the medications as well. Not much to like.
I went back into afib after my astra zeneca jab. It was first time since ablation. I then had it twice more in the next 6 weeks and under went another urgent ablation a few days later. I had no trouble with the second jab.
Hi James, my first astra zenica vaccination made me really rough and I felt awful but had no AFIB or ectopics at all. after having my second vaccination I felt fine and it didn’t touch me at all but I did have a AFIB episode in the early hours. I don’t blame the vaccination though because our AFIB is so unpredictable and can visit when it wants.? I’m not saying a vaccination can’t cause a AFIB episode but I suppose any upset to our body can no matter what it is. Best wishes Ron.
AFib was not part of our vocabulary until the Moderna jab.
3 hours after the first jab, my mum's heart started to beat very fast (over 140bpm). lasted 5 minutes. we didn't know at the time what it was.
3 hours after the second jab, mum's heart started racing again even faster (170 bpm) and very high blood pressure (200/110). called the ambulance. paramedics said the heart was beating chaotic. it calmed down in 2-3 hours. we didn't know what it was.
went to a bunch of doctors for investigations. they said everything is fine.
2 months later, at 1:00 a.m. I got a phone call: it was mum, she was having another episode. called the ambulance. this time they left us an ECG.
now we have a diagnosis: AFib
I too had "side-effects" after the second moderna jab. My pulse went sky-high but the ECG only revealed it was tachycardia. I'm on bisoprolol since May.
However I had 2 episodes where my heart started racing when it felt different than before, I felt it wasn't beating regularly. Lasted 15-20 minutes.
GP said my mum and I are living proof that genetics plays an important role in the covid vaccine side-effects.
I'm devastated ever since I had the bloody vaccine jab. I'm the one who convinced my mum to take it. I feel responsible.
It's certain that in some cases the vaccine triggers afib. They don't mention that. They don't even care about it.
I had to find that the hard way after months of hell going to a bunch of brilliant "specialized" doctors who are only interested in taking our money without giving any answers so that we can come back and pay again. I did report the vaccine side effects. They said they will come back to collect more data. They never did.
I'm sick of criminal doctors, I'm sick of afib and I regret taking the vaccine.
My daughter is still recovering from her vaccination and I am going to see a specialist and have grave doubts about the second injection. But it seems damned if you do and damned if you dont. It seems as if your family has had a similar nightmare. I am sorry to hear that and understand completely. Thanks Snak and Niki
