Has anyone experienced (during cryoablation recovery) when you eat or finish a meal, that your heart flutters bad? I'm not having a great recovery these days. Had a bad bout of heart racing and trying to afib out but didn't go the whole way. Mentally not doing well either. Always scared about what will happen next. I read in a post that that person got worse after the procedure and I pray I that doesn't happen to me. Going into my 7th week of recovery.

Cryoablation
If I had a pound (or in your case, a dollar) from every one who contacts the forum during the first 3/6 months after their ablation with concerns about their recovery, I’d be a wealthy man. If I then had a £ or a $ for every month I didn’t hear from them say 8 months after their ablation, I’d be able to pay off the national debt! I’m not saying that things never go wrong, but I am trying to reassure you that the things you are experiencing are not unusual and sometimes we expect too much too quick. Not surprisingly, we also are sensitive to every different sensation and it’s very easy to talk ourselves into feeling anxious. Your heart is probably trying very hard to get back into AF and it seems clear that the procedure is fighting back and you are in the middle so it’s not surprising that you feel anxious. Maybe eating less but more frequently might help and certainly avoid eating too late. If it starts to get to you, let off steam here, most of us understand what you are going through……….
Thanks. I barely eat anything, so I'm trying my best to deal with this.
Hi there, I had a few problems with food/eating after my cryo. I found it best to eat little and often and then sit and rest or even have a nap! It did settle after a couple of weeks so don't worry as that can make you more stressed. Hope the recovery goes well. Jackie
Just wanted to provide some reassurance. After my cryoablation I had a nightmarish couple of months. 6 months on I’m tailing off my medication and feeling so much better all the time!
You're still early in the healing process, or blanking period, and are bound to have some quirky sensations. During my recovery from a cryo in 2014, I would "almost-a-fib" after a large meal, so maybe try eating smaller meals more often for a while. I hope this helps.
Thank You. Yes that describes it.. almost-a-fib. Last Friday it hit me bad. My heart started racing and the flips were hard and strong. Took a whole metoprolol and ativan to calm down. It's hard to stay calm but trying!
