Cryoablation completed yesterday.

I had my first ablation yesterday at Liverpool heart and chest hospital. The staff and facilities were top draw, I would thoroughly recommend this hospital to anyone considering this procedure. So it's day one and after reading the AFA document about post ablation I find it to be spot on and quite reassuring. I have a sore groin and a few palpatations and miss beats but mostly NSR so happy with that. My pulse have risen to about 80bpm from 60bpm prior to the procedure but again to be expected. Il keep this post updated over the next few months in the hope it helps anyone having or considering the same. The road to recovery has started....wishing you all a good weekend.... Netflix here I come! Dave.

Hi Dave

I had very similar history of AF to yours and had cryoablation in April 2016.

Was given 85% success rate, and so far so very good!

Best of luck with your recovery. Take it slow and easy for a good long while to help the healing process. Worth it as Q of L 100% improved for me so take ❤️ And I wish you well.

With good wishes

Sarah

Gosh well done, I hope it’s calmwaters all the way....I’m due later this tear and love to rwD how folk are doing.....

Hi Morzine, mostly calm waters with a few waves i.e palpatations and ectopics but that's all normal apparently. It will take a couple of months for the blanking period to be completed and only then will I know if the procedure was a success or not, sometimes it takes longer too.. Hope you are keeping well and have a good day 👍

How is your recovery going now?

djbgatekeeper in reply toGwersey

Hi there, it's going fine thanks. For the first two weeks after the procedure it was a bit rough but then the symptoms settled down apart from the occasional slow run of AF. I'm just taking it easy, cautious approach as it's been a long road to get here... Hope you are well? Cheers, Dave.
