Any one been pinged by the Covid app?

We were pinged yesterday to say we had been in contact with someone on Friday who has since tested positive for Covid - goodness knows how as we were only out for an hour and that included driving to the shops, parking going in and out of 4 shops and getting home. Barely in any shop for 15 mins and spent more time in queue at traffic lights and on roundabout! Anyway tested at home yesterday and both clear testing again tomorrow. Shame as we were going out to celebrate our anniversary today but will go next week now.

Yes i was pinged and had to isolate for ten days just as i was due to go on holiday back in August. My hairdressers daughter had contracted covid at school and past it on to her mum.

We had to rearrange our holiday and several appointments made for while we were due to be away. Shortly afterwards the system changed but not in time to let us go on holiday. Had to have lateral flow test and PCR but was clear.

Des, I thought that if you'd had the Covid vaccine you didn't have isolate now.

We are not isolating just didn’t want to go if there was any likelihood of maybe spreading to any one else. Actually I think we still should isolate in Wales. It’s our anniversary on Saturday but didn’t want to be in town on a busy Saturday.

Don't blame you for not wanting to go out. Covid appears to be ramping up again big style.

I was pinged, couldn't work out where/who as been nowhere....turned out to be through the wall from my neighbour!!!

Well I did wonder had I left my phone in the car as two of the places I parked there were disgruntled husbands sat in cars checking their phones? Never thought you would get pinged because of next door neighbour! 🤣. We will test again later on today. No temperature or continuous cough and feel fine.

Yes Desanthony, keep doing the lateral flow tests, I found them acurate.

My neighbour advised me she'd tested positive but we arent chatty neighbours 🤣so I hadnt actually been near her, only through the wall!!

As an aside, I have had covid, in October and i didnt have a temperature or a continuous cough. Others who had it at the same time as me ( all via our kids in school!) we all had different combinations of symptoms, its very odd!

Keep safe, hope you get to celebrate your anniversary in style soon !

The chances are that you haven't been near the person who has reported having COVID. This is one downside of the app and why many people have stopped using it. It's not very accurate.

My barber had a QR code to scan when I went for a haircut and I had a conversation about it. We were saying that If I got my hair cut in the morning and someone came in later and had Covid, I would still get pinged. It's a very broad brush.

Yes it is a bit of a broad brush. To be honest I had forgotten I had the app on the phone as a few times I tried to scan it didn't work recently - even in places where it had worked previously. Anyway, just tested again and still clear thankfully.

Pinged in the queue for a booster jab! Tested negative on lateral flow but positive on PCR test. Isolated for 10 days. Not a symptom. Still negative on lateral flow. Husband tested negative on his PCR xx
