Evening all.Im so disappointed but I think I have flipped back into a fib after a successful CV on Sat.I know its not a cure but was hoping it would last a bit longer.Went for a flat 2 mile walk with my friend this morning and suddenly realised I was working hard..I checked my amazbit when I got home and hr reached 146.I also took my pulse and yes the lovely reg rhythm I enjoyed for a couple of days was gone and the irregular pulse was back.I m not sure what to do now.Try to get to speak to gp (if I'm lucky)I will have another ecg at hospital in 6 weeks but as that's Xmas day that won't happen. All suggestions gratefully received.
Cardioversion Sat.A fib today. - Atrial Fibrillati...
Cardioversion Sat.A fib today.
Hi Ethel. I'm sorry to hear that. I suppose you were expecting to get at least a couple of years being back NSR. I went to see the arrhythmia nurse yesterday for my pre-assessment and as the increased Bisoprolol and Digoxin are working to keep my rate lower, I've decided not to go ahead with my Cardioversion planned for next week. I was told It is a 50/50 scenario and as I have been in AF for so many years it was less likely to work. I am therefore staying in permanent AF for the foreseeable and will wait and see what happens. Good luck and I hope you get some meds to help you or even the offer of another Cardioversion. Keep us informed x
This happened to me after a CV, but two weeks later. I took a normal walk, put a mask on to go indoors, and bang, Afib was back. Figured the mask set it off. I started on Supplements which brought me back to NSR 8 weeks later. (Takes 8-10 weeks to show benefits) I have since learned this: The heart needs time to remodel itself after the procedure. This takes time. So I do not walk fast, sleep well, drink water, rest more with my feet up and now it has been over 6 months I have remained in NSR. It is frustrating not being able to do what you are accustomed to doing but it is worth the wait. If I were you, I would take the Magnesium Taurate and Magnesium Glycinate to help you stay calm until it hopefully reverses. Also the Hawthorn Berry, and Alaskan Fish Oil may help too. I think I recall you already take Vitamin C and D3. Good Luck!
Hi Dee
Is magnesium the supplements you refer to ? Or others ?
May I ask what medications you take for control. ?
I also had a cv with same results as mentioned by Ethel.
Thanks!
Hi Mav,I take a series of Supplements but have reduced them from 3 times a day down to 2 times a day since I have been back in NSR. I take different Magnesium supplements. Magnesium is ok to take because only a 40% to 60% is absorbed and the rest is lost through urine.
I take Magnesium Taurate and Magnesium Glycinate. I have purchase one called Triple Calm but it is expensive. I used that on originally to begin with.
I also take Hawthorn Berry, Co-Q10 with some L'Carnitine, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, and Wild Alaskan Fish Oil. (important for arrythmias.)
I'm not home now so if I forgot one I will let you know.
Having had a Cardioversion three weeks ago, I have been concerned with every flutter and hr issue since then.....and there have been a few! However, I have Fibricheck on my iphone and it immediately tells me my hr and wherther its 'normal', 'erratic' or in' AF'. So far my issues have all been doses of erratic hr, which have reverted to normal. But when its happening you are not sure, so it puts your mind at rest a bit.
