Hi had my 3rd Cardioversion last Tuesday,
Looks like I’m still in rhythm, only really light headed & my pulse seems stuck on 40/42 bpm. Even if I walk 2to 3 miles still only 53 bpm.... any ideas.?

You need to call the hospital where you had your cardioversion and speak to the atrial fibrillation nurse and explain as you have here.

I have the same thing stuck on 42 or even lower. Went to the clinic today and they are cutting my bisopolol. Watch this space. Hope it works I feel awful, can hardly stay awake and my brain seems even dimmer than normal.
Will be interested to hear what they say
I’m no doctor but if you are still taking Bisoprolol/ Beta blocker then I would consider dropping it or at least reducing the dose at least until you get to see a GP/ EP.
My normal resting HR is around 55, so when I was still taking bisoprolol after a cardioversion my HR was in the low 40’s too.
I’ve had a slow heartbeat recently- round about the level you are describing, particularly at night- and was told by GPs and cardiac nurses that this isn’t of concern *provided I am not feeling dizzy or unsteady*. Presumably, you are on medication which is slowing the heart, so it is to be expected, and desirable, that the heart beats slower. I was told that they would be reluctant to reduce the dose of Sotalol which I take as this would make AF more likely. I would monitor and record your pulse regularly and see if it increases over time. Increasing the amount of water that you drink may raise it slightly, and if you have not been active during lockdown this may have reduced it.
Call the Afib nurses, they'll probably lower your doses. Xx
This happened to me, following my Cardio Version my heart rate was around 37bpm and lower when trying to sleep. I had a pacemaker implant which resolved the problem and now my rate can’t drop below 60bpm.
