Had a cardioversion on Saturday which resulted in NSR, however I have felt pretty rough, some headaches , nausea, shortness of breath & aching limbs, also some slight irregularity of the pulse, has anyone else had these symptoms.

May be the effect of the sedation but I have never had such problems post DCCV and have had five. Have you considered a virus? There are a lot about right now I know as I am going through one myself. We always blame our hearts don't we.

I've only had one and do not recall having any of the issues you mention so maybe as Bob suggests, you have picked up something from the hospital. Maybe a visit to the GP would be a good thing to do......best wishes.....

I've had lots of cardioversions and have always felt well afterwards like Bob and Flapjack have said. Bob is certainly right as I've always blamed every ache and pain on my heart misbehaving, it's hard not to do! Please don't sit worrying and have a word with your GP if you've never had these symptoms before. Of course I guess there's always the chance you've gone back into AF, an ECG would would soon show if that was the case. Wishing you well.

I've had 17+ cardioversions and certainly haven't experienced all the symptoms you mention. However although it has always been a great relief to be back in sinus rhythm I must confess to always feeling a bit delicate for a few days afterwards...to the extent that I sometimes felt that I was about to go back into AF ( I never did ) and felt a bit short of breath.

Yes I have . It can vary with a lot with us all. Obviously get it checked out but you might be a bit like me - not just the heart wiring that is haywire but the bit to the brain! - by which I mean I have a lot of aches and pains which they tell me is the brain sending out the wrong signals. It takes me some time to recover after ablation so be if all otherwise ok be patient and take your recovery slowly and as quietly as possible. Good Luck

I had one cardioversion and managed to stay in SR for a day and half afterwards :o) No side effects, apart from a burn on my chest and a tongue so badly bitten I could hardly talk for days after.

Thanks everyone I have been back to the hospital today, The ECG revealed I am still in sinus rhythm, sme numbers were rather high & as he thinks the regular flecanide may be causing the breathlessness & the other now resolved symptoms so he has stopped it, I did wonder about a virus as the last time I was an inn patient I came home with horrendous D&V. I have to have a 24 hr tape before I see the Consultant.

Now back in AF but I do feel much better, went back on Digoxin125mcgs after discussion with the Nurse Specialist, now have to wait for the tape & follow up appointment with the Consultant. Must say I would be reluctant to have a further Cardioversion
