Flecainide

Has anyone ever taken a double dose of flecainide by mistake . I am on 100 mgs and think I have taken it twice

The maximum daily dose is 300mg and when in AF I took that as a PIP, in one go. However the advice for Flecainide is as below so rather be safe than sorry as taking when in NSR may have a different affect. Have you an arrythmia clinic number you can ring? Have you a Kardia or other device to record your ECG? If so it may be a good idea to do that.

If you take more Flecainide Acetate tablets than you should

If you have accidentally taken more than the prescribed dose, contact your nearest casualty department or tell your doctor or pharmacist at once.

If in doubt then you could always ring 111?

Hi yes I have done this twice I was on flecainide 300mg for many years .I mistakenly took my tablet twice I phoned111 they sent me to a+e they just checked me over I just felt strange I think a lot was down to anxiety about what I had done they kept me there for about 5 hours I felt fine so I discharged myself it was very busy as long as you have not exeaded your 24hr dosage you will be fine.

Thank you . I phoned pharmacy and they said some people take larger doses 2 times a day. He said it excretes your system after 12 hrs and just to make sure I took my night time dose as usual
