I think it is common to be low if you are on bisoprolol. I'm on 1.25mg and my resting heart rate is about 45bpm. I can get a bit light headed if I stand up quickly but otherwise I feel ok
A heart rate of 49 isn't a problem.... unless it's a problem for you i.e. if it causes breathlessness, dizziness or lightheadedness, chest pain, confusion or memory problems, fatigue, fainting (syncope) or near-fainting, tiring easily etc.
My heart drops into 40s every night but it doesn't cause any problems for me. However, if your lower heart rate causes you problems or concerns you then you should discuss with your medical professional. If they are causing significant problems then you should do so asap.
If there is one thing I have learned from being on here for many years is that drug therapy for AF is very individual and therefore involves some trial and error as well as your medic's favourites.
Do you take your Biso.. PM or did it drop after AM dose?
I take mine PM and it does not interfere with my 'normal' low 47avg bpm heart rate.
I take Diltiazem to lower rapid AF Heart RATE. Was 156 on 10mg bisoprolol, Finally I went to private heart specialist. He introduced CCB.
AM 120mg CD Diltiazem and heart rate 60s until late afternoon then
PM Bisoprolol. The change in manufacturer has given low BP 108/62 so I 1/2 it. He agrees that I can probably stop it. So every other day 1.25 now for the next week.
I was on apixaban for a year because apparently the Holter Monitor for 2 days showed AFib. I have stopped the blood thinner because it was thinning my hair, and also had red spots on face, Also I could not take supplements for arthritis because of interactions with blood thinner. Also I told cardiologist I was not going to be on blood thinner for life based on ONE episode of AFib. I had my family doctor prescribe the 2-week Holter monitor and it did not specifically show afib.
My cardiologist did say it is my decision, I will tell him at next appointment in January I have stopped Edoxaban (which he later put me on due tingling in legs) for some months now.
The reason for being prescribed anti coagulation is based on a risk score using several medical conditions such as high blood pressure, family history, age, etc not just AF. You mention hair thinning and red spots on your face .
Different anticoagulants may work better for you. But I'd not risk going off them even though I can't take anti inflammation drugs orally for arthritis. I can use topical gels .
