Has anyone had a zio monitor I have worn one now for almost the 14 days specified. It is a very simple and easy to wear monitor and you can even shower with it. I am wondering why I was sent one by my cardiologist as my AF in confirmed a long time ago - does it find other things as well?

I was sent a different device but very small and convenient, about the size of a USB stick with two stickers and a short lead. They record your heart activity so can diagnose other arrhythmias. Your EP will be sent a report and if you have so requested you should also get a copy from him.
I have worn a ziopatch each year for a number of years. The doctor wanted to know what percentage of time that I was in AF. To determine course of treatment. 3%, then 7%, then up to 20%, which is when I decided to go for the ablation.
It records all arrhythmias and produces a report. I was being checked for PAF but it uncovered daily SVT episodes lasting approx. 9sec. They upped my dose of Flecainide slightly and the next year it showed no PAF but the SVT events were weekly (based on the short time frame)
Hello, I just had a Zio Patch which I wore for 2 weeks. I got mine privately because the wait for any tests at all on the NHS was just far too long and I was too anxious. It was great and easy to wear / easy to take off. I got it rather than a 24-48 hour ECG because I have have one episode of AFib (my first, mid April when I was rushed to A&E) and then nothing since (or nothing I felt). So the longer time frame gave more chance of catching whatever was going on with my heart. Yes it is important to ask to have a copy of the results so you can read and look up all the info it gives - certainly helpful for me as my cardiologist didn't say much. It wasn't cheap!! But I think the price would depend on where you are and which private service you use. I think it probably ranges from £600-£1000.
