As part of my ablation, I am participating in a clinical study for which I am told that I will be getting data using a Transtelephonic monitor. I am trying to figure out how this is different from a halter monitor and whether it is something I wear or if it is implanted. Does anybody have any information on this? Thanks.

It sounds like the monitor is down loaded via telephone. Mine was like this in 2004 . Every night I had to dial a number, put my device against the phone and press a button to send the data across. I should imagine that they have improved this by now with wifi but only guessing.
I think it could be both. Mine was a holter but I do know that some new tiny and implantable devices are out there . Unless they have told you that you would have an implant I would guess a strap on though that may have other meanings. lol
Could this be be a version of the 'implantable loop recorder?'. A small chip planted in the chest, recording all the data. A small device to use if you feel something odd happening, and another piece of equipment for downloading the data to the hospital. No trouble to use. I've had mine for nearly 3 years. Dave
