Apixaban has been fine. Though sometimes I wish I'd start acting my age and not knocking myself around, or playing sport. Bruising does occur but well treated with Arnica. Biggest concern is head injury and bleeds on the brain. Try and avoid head damage and if you do get a hard bang, see stars, or dizzy get checked out.
Yes I worry about these things , especially since I had a brain aneurysm and bad bleed 17 yrs ago. But the doctors tell me ,they would rather give me more blood than have a bad stroke. Choices!!Anyway I am very lucky to be feeling well these days.
Not had any side effects from apixaban. I neither bruise nor bleed easier/more and have noticed nothing other than that. You should get blood tests either every 6 months or every year - depends on how your medical team work. My cardio used to do it annually but my GP does the blood test every 6 months.
After using Apixaban for a little over a year, no real problems but do have minor nosebleeds on rare occasions. Fell off my bike a few months ago and developed a grapefruit-sized lump (hematoma) in my thigh that kept me company for weeks. Ouch!Just be more careful than me!
Thank you RxMe, I try not to do things that could cause nosebleeds as mine are gushers. I do hope that at least the change will reduce or eliminate the gushers, scary. Marney
