I started on Apixaban two weeks ago. I was then off sick as I literally ached from head to toe which I thought was a bug. Went back to work the week after and was very breathless and by the Thursday I felt I’d been hit by a bus. Yes I have got a cough and temp so it could be Corona and I am self isolating but I felt so ill this afternoon with cold chills coming over me. Is it just a coincidence sine I’ve started taking meds I feel bad. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks

Apixaban side effects
These are not side effects that are reported by forum members taking Apixaban. I’m afraid it sounds as though you need to follow the recommendations as defined by the NHS......good luck.
Agree with Flapjack. If you're feeling really bad dial the 111 no. now and seek help. Wishing you well.

Thank you
I have been on Apixaban twice - for 4 weeks after a cardioversion- I was really sick (shivering, pain and fluctuating blood pressure) but as, a few days after the cardioversion I was diagnosed with Shingles, we put the symptoms down to that.
I was switched from Rivaroxiban to Apixiban after an abandoned ablation where they found a blood clot in my heart. I had the same reaction and was readmitted to hospital two days after discharge.
My EP said he’d never seen a reaction like this and couldn’t be certain it was the medication but he switched me back to Rivaroxiban.
Agree with others, no side effects of Apixaban with everyone I know who takes it.
Hi. I have been on Apixaban for 6 years and since then have joint pains. Thought At first it was the statins that caused it but after a friend of mine took Apixaban too and was telling me she had joint pains I think it must be a side effect.
No problems here after 16;months on itv
Sounds like you have a flu virus of some sort. Absolutely no reason to tie it to apixaban.
I am not a medical expert at all but I have been using Apixiban for some years now and have never experienced the symptoms you describe. The worst I have had has been that when I have a cold I tend to have a mild nose bleed. It may of course be that you have flu not necessarily coronavirus.
In any event i hope you feel better soon.
Hi Deezee 24, I was on Apixaban last year and the side affects were awful, Pains in my fingers, dizzy spells [though they would go in the blink of an eyelid, } Itchy all over not to mention I bruised very easily. I was changed to Edoxaban and the only side affects I now have are every 5 days or so a slight dizzy spell and occasional itching. But bear in mine every ones reaction to medication is different and many do not suffer side affects from apixaban. Good luck.
I’ve just been put on apixaban and finding after 2 weeks I’m itching a lot all over , especially arms and head also feel head blocked up like a head cold , fuzzy feeling ,
I've been on Apixaban for 2 years. I can vouch for the itching. Their may be other side effects but its difficult to tease them out from other causes. That's why I'm here. Generally I think taking pharms for chronic conditions is a poor strategy--especially costly ones.
