Need a smaller amount of magnesium to have the same effect. Any one else had this. Dr Gupta says that Magnesium Pidolate is good for ectopic heart beats and I think palpitations. Have found one that is energy and palpitations. Or are all of them good. Getting a bit confused now. X I really want the energy one.

I’m not medically trained but suggest you check out all 3/4 of Dr Sanja Gupta’s videos on the subject in YouTube. He advises on types that are useful and those which are less so. This is Dr Gupta from York Hospital.....

It says on label take 400 Meg 4times a day I just take 400 once a day but am going to up it twice a day I find it helps me sleep better, ☘️

Magnesium absorption is not straight forward and different types are better for different people. Don't take Magnesium Oxide. If your on PPIs reduce the dose if you can and/or take the magnesium when there is maximum acid in your stomach. I found taking them at the same time (or a little before) is best for me as the acid in your stomach is at its highest level when you take the PPI and the PPI takes hours to work

Generally the higher the acid the better magnesium is absorbed. Some magnesium products have been treated so the the magnesium is better absorbed with low acid. Do not take magnesium oxide as it is unlikely to get absorbed, acid or no acid.

Some say to take the magnesium 12 hours after the PPI, others at the same time or just before the PPI, I believe the latter to be the case - but I don't know, it just seems to work better for me.

What I did find very beneficial is dropping my PPI dose from the original 20g to 10g and now just 10g every few days works well. I would defiantly experiment with the PPI dose (do this over weeks/months to get it right, but don't stop it as this will only invoke an increase in acid).
