Has anyone with AF considered taking part in the Oxford Covid 19 vaccine trials as they are asking for volunteers from all backgrounds and health conditions.

Covid 19 vaccine trials
Yes me. Waiting for response at the moment.
Yes I have been asked if I am Willing to be involved by the research team at Imperial College who are running the massive Covid 19 symptom study. So I assume they have to chance to ask an awful lot of people since there are currently 4 million people using the app.
Whether or not I am given the vaccine will probably depend on my antibody level. I think I had Covid way back in March but who knows since the public could not be tested at that time.
I haven’t heard anything further about the trial.
I can't wait to get the vaccine, you don't really need to know what's in it , i trust our government to make all my adult decisions for me , as they never tell lies and have my best interests at heart . I don't care about any possible side effects . It's now a case pandemic not a death pandemic ? Some one said this to me the other day , I can't work out what they meant , any ideas fellow A Fibbers.
Is this supposed to be ironic? It certainly seems so but just in case it's not I suggest you read something about the history of coronavirus vaccines and the phenomenon of paradoxical immunity enhancement. The problem of binding antibodies. I will not be rushing to get vaccinated till I am sure as I can be that it is safe.
I won't be rushing to get it either! May prevent Covid19, but what does it do to other organs in our body? Only time will tell.
As a floxie I have to be very careful about what I ingest. In 2010 I had the flu vaccine as usual. I was ill for most of the winter. I suspect it was due to the inclusion for the first year of the swine flu vaccine in the seasonal vaccine. I had very bad low blood sugar symptoms , chest pain which I am sure now was due to muscle spasm and costochondritis , headaches , dizziness and nausea - for months . Many floxies have complained that flu vaccines have led to relapses and exacerbation of their floxing symptoms. I have not had a flu jab since 2011 ( useless as I got flu in Feb 2012). The jab was so ineffective that year you were actually more likely to get flu by the end of flu season if you had had it! Since then I have had one bad respiratory virus in 2016. There have been several more studies ( including one done in Newcastle) linking vit D deficiency to covid severity. Funny how this is not being widely reported. But then if dosing the entire population with enougb vitD to get them to over 30ng/l ( a cheap measure) reduced the virus significantly there might be a lot less money to be made by vaccine manufacturers. I would never sign up for a vaccine trial.
Well the first flu vaccine I had was in 1968/69, had never had flu before then but right afterwards I had it for the first time.
Growing up in the heart of the countryside in my large family (one of 6 children) none of us ever had colds or flu. I didn't ever suffer with colds until I left work in 2013, then I had one every year and they would go to my chest. Just over three years ago I had the Aussie flu and it was awful. Then I read about vitamins D3 and C and how they could protect me and started taking them. For the last three winters I've not had so much as a sniffle and yes I too have read they can protect you from covid19. Also, like you, I would never sign up to any vaccine or medication trial.
I really wanted to and started to apply but the nearest centre to me was too far to travel to and I don’t drive. They said hopefully there will be a place nearer me soon. All for it though.

Yes, I applied but they told me that the nearest place was on a different island from where I live, 300 mi away. Even without the AFib, I'm just not that good at swimmer😥
Where do you apply?
Have volunteered as part of Covid App study. Not heard anything.
I will once my three month blanking period is up.
Hi I’ve just signed up to the NHS vaccine trial programme if you are not close to oxford
Similar to MaggieMunro we could sign up as we are part of the ZOE apps 4 million participants. We chose not to apply. It's a trial, so there is a risk, however small, of unforeseen side effects.
I’ve signed up. Am waiting to see if I’ve been chosen.
