I have a pacemaker, in permanent AF and I use my Kardia to check my heart rate occasionally. I've even captured a few "paced beats".

Which kardia mobile have you got? Are there several type?

Original not the newer 6 lead one.

I think the information from Alivecor, said it was not compatible.

Thanks baba, I'll do more research on it first. My cardiologist appoint last week had been postponed but no new date given. My first year pacemaker check up this week has been postponed to Feb 2021. Thought I'll keep track myself in the meantime.

Well I was told not by Kardia at their stand at 2018 Patient Day - but already had one and found that it does work and certainly picks up AFl & AF but the trace looks different and certainly you get more interference from the Pacemaker if it is kicking in when you take the trace.

Of course if you have a PM then that will give your doctors a very good report on what is going on anyway from your regular review.

PS - I had the original until a few months ago when it fell apart and stopped working after 7 years of use and just bought the new 6 Lead and both worked although the new one is very much more sensitive.

I’ve had one for several years and was recommended by my EP. It picks up my rhythm changes well.

I have a CRT pacemaker implanted 31/10/19. I already had a I lead Kardia and it didn’t seem to work properly after the implant so I emailed Alivecor and they said they were not compatible so I stopped using it. I have moderate HF and permanent AF. Unfortunately, I seem to have deleted their reply. It might depend on the type of pacemaker.

Hello again AQuilter. Sorry, got distracted from this thread. Have tried to open the Amazon link you posted but it says ‘something has gone wrong and they are working to fix it’. In the meantime, I have found the email reply from Alivecor: (Typos theirs not mine!)

DeLayna Thomas, Dec 9, 07:27 PST:

Hello Jill,

Thank you for contacting AliveCor. We would like to apoligize for the inconvience.

Unfortantly, The Kardia Mobile has not been tested for accuracy with paced-EKG recordings. We do not recommend use of the Kardia Mobile for patients with pacemakers because we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the resulting EKG recordings. However, please consult with your physician for more information on using Kardia Mobile with your pacemaker.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with further questions and concerns.

Thanks,

I haven’t taken it any further because I am in permanent AF and am no longer really aware of it.

As it appears not to be of use to me any longer, perhaps someone who could get benefit would like it. It is the original one lead one.

I got EMAY ECG monitor delivered yesterday. It's got Bluetooth to transfer result to smartphone or iPad. Still experimenting with it.
