Sorry for the title but I'm guessing as to what I'm feeling! It's one of those 3 I would guess. After a Cryoablation September 2018 for a irregular heart beat all has been well until last Saturday. I am experiencing some form of skipped beat every 10-15 Mins and more frequently if I am walking lifting ect.. I am gutted and this isn't the Christmas present I was hoping for ! It's a weird feeling as I can feel the irregularity building about a second before the missed beat fires.
I am just wondering if anyone else has the same issue and what the outcome was, I take 2.5mg bisoprolol each morning and since this new feature of my heart started this morning I took 50mg of flecainide which I have as pip from my pre ablation days. I guess my heart will always be a bit wonky but I'm hoping I can manage this and stay away from the hospital over Christmas should the symptoms get worse... Any thoughts?
P.s I've always stuck to my healthy lifestyle zero alcohol caffeine ect...

Nightmare mate, can you not give your EP a buzz see if maybe they can take a look or get a monitor arranged, dont know if you'd need a referal or he could just see you . Not had any flu or the likes have you to cause a blip, it seems to kick mine off if I pick anything like that up.
Thanks Ian, I will be contacting my GP tomorrow as he specializes in cardiac issues and knows my history, I'm hoping a few days rest and flecainide will do the trick but we shall see...
Fast world mate for sure, and im one of the worst offenders to be flat out in everything. Maybe Xmas and bit time off and RnR settles it down a little.
I've got to reign myself in at times especially with work, hopefully rest and switch off will get you back to normal, brilliant having a good GP, feet up mate and take care of yourself.
Sorry to hear you're having a few dramas again Dave. I think you're right - we will always have super sensitive hearts. I find Magnesium helps so I'd definitely get onto that as Padayn01 suggests.
My doc prefers magnesium bisglycinate and it’s been helpful for me - with LOTS of water, sipped throughout the day . I find good hydration as important as the mag bis.
Hottest start to summer on record. We’ve had a lot of days around 40 degrees C. Thankfully everywhere is air conditioned. We were supposed to be getting the garden ready for Christmas last weekend but we binge watched Netflix instead 😃☀️
It might be worth requesting a 3 day heart monitor to see if that can shed some light on the situation. At the moment this seems to be very much a case of “don’t know”. Doctors are always adamant that ectopics are not themselves harmful and originate from a different part of the heart than AF, although ectopics always precede PAF with me. I spoke to a cardiac nurse recently about some short-lived rapid beats (basically ectopics) and was told they were “not of concern”. I have had fairly frequent ectopics in the past -including years before I was diagnosed with AF- and they eventually settled down. At the moment I would suggest speaking to cardiac nurses or a GP, requesting 3 day monitoring and treating them as if they are the result of anxiety. Time will tell whether they are significant or not.
Thanks.. I woke this morning with a bad headache and head cold so I am hoping the heart trouble is just a reaction to the virus and not a step backwards .... I'm having a couple of days off work so will see 👍
Thanks for this... No I've not taken any cold meds but I appreciate your help ... Both my parents are quite ill and in their 80s so I must find a way of not letting the situation get to me incase thats upsetting the apple cart.... Life's fun and games!
I was going to ask if you had a bug. The reason for this is I am af free since Jan 18 but I still get missed beats every so often. Can be short bursts of can go on 10 hours and sometimes missing the 3rd beat then the 20th then the 15th - random.
I have had a mixture of strange beats over the last 3 days. Was getting worried you but at 3am woke up in a sweat, got a temperature achy joints / etc I think that is probably my explanation for my misbehaving heart. I was not really worried before , but not at all so now.
I did not have a fib as bad (as persitent) as you to start with, so easier for me to say, but I am convinced worrying about ectopics makes things worse. So 90% of the time I just ignore them. When it's on an off for 3 days doubt creeps in and I get back to listening for the heatbeat and any arrhythmia. Dont!
Basically my theory is that when i get like this I get a fight or flight response with my own heart. So more worry, more adenaline, more reaction from your heart, more worry ...and on. Try to chill and get over your bug and see where you get to. ( I will try to do the same) you can't run away from your own heart (Nor fight it) obviously not medically trained so only my own plan to deal with them.
Thanks for the advise... I am chilling and things seem to be improving so with a bit of luck like you say it is probably the bugs.... Thanks for taking the time to reply and best wishes
Hey buddy!! From the US here. Just wanted to let you know I had the same thing happen to me 6 months about after ablation I had I’m June. It started about a month ago I started getting PVCs out of the blue and I could feel them coming also. I actually went into bigeminy most of the time once they started and went to the Emergency Room about 4 times. I would also take my beta blocker hoping it would help “Atenolol” once I felt the first 1 or 2 PVCs. So my EP setup another PVC ablation just in case I wanted to get one if I couldn’t figure out how to stop them. Well my insurance DENIED my surgery which is good and bad at the same time. The reason I say that is I had to stop my “Atenolol” 3 days before my surgery but I had also started taking “Heart Calm” 3 times a day which has 3 different magnesium supplements, coq10, and Taurine in it. My heart completely went back to normal soon as I quit the prescription meds and took the magnesium. So anyways I think that it’s a healing “process” to the ablation at about the 6 month mark. Anyways I’m off all drugs only take magnesium “heart calm” 3 times a day and I’ve even started drinking alcohol again with no affects! Anyways maybe give “heart calm” a shot and stop the prescription meds completely like I did it might accidentally help!! Oh by the way I have heard that when you have a cryoablation instead of RF ablation like I had it is more cheaper and definetly shorter in time during surgery the way they use the cryoablation balloon. And if the procedure is going to fail the spot that should have stayed frozen is starting to go back to normal and the bad signal is making its way through your pulmonary vein which would suck! Your not actually going into afib yet but it’s trying to. They may need to go in there and do the cryoablation again eventually if spot is starting to leak!! Good luck keep me posted! Eric
Hi Dave- so sorry to hear f your current state- coincidentally I was at the cardio yesterday and she feels strongly that while the anxiety can't help, it is not at all the cause of any of these arrhythmias. I, too, have all sorts of odd beats including AFIB after my cryoablation right around the same time as yours. The phrenic nerve was hit by the balloon early on so only one vein was worked on and I will consider a redo in the spring with the hope that the frequent AFIB and other beats might stop. While short in nature mostly each day I feel something. The daily topical magnesium really really helps. I did for 6 months not missing a day and then stopped for what was to be a week to see if it made a difference-'after 3 days I started back and have not missed since! My wish for you is that this passes quickly and that your family and the holidays take your mind away from your fears; having to revisit for a touch up is always good to have in your back pocket if necessary.... Your friend, Missy
Hi Missy nice to hear from you and thank you for your tips and information. I would be interested to know which magnesium you find so helpful pls?
Yes I often wondered about anxiety and its effects, nice to hear that it is not a major contributor for sure... I hope you continue to stay well and best wishes for the festive season🎄🎁✨
