Sertraline and Flecainide.

My arrhythmia is caused by anxiety so I was put on sertraline. Problem is that I am on Flecainide as well and I read on the pamphlet that there is an interaction between them.

Is this so and anyone taking both?

I suggest that you speak to your pharmacist about this as they are the experts in contra indications. No doubt the doctor who prescribed was aware of your other medication?

Hi,I have been on fleccainade for about ten yrs,also prescribed sertraline for anxiety bout 8 months ago,prescribed by GP,and doing well on them,hope they help you as much,

Thanks for replies. My doc was aware of the Flecainide when she prescribed Sertraline.

Ive been on flecainide and sertraline for years. My docs say not to be concerned. Sertraline may slow your livers metabolism of flecainide, possible requiring lower dose of flecainide. Im on low doses of both so no changes were made and I havent had any issues

I was on 50mg x 2 Flecainide but it was too low to prevent AF episodes so 100mg x 2 is the lowest I can go.

I understand that sertraline increases the Flecainide plasma levels or something. One would need to have regular blood tests to monitor the levels.
