Well that was quick, 1st ablation 1st July, 2nd one 2nd December. How neat is that! (I refer to the dates)

Quick turn around
Hardly time for the first one to heal properly!
Your right I hadn't thought about that, I hope all will be well? Should I delay it? It did completely take me by surprise!
Are you 100% sure that the first one didn’t work?
Well they said it hadn't, I ended up in A&E about 10 days after my first with HR high, consultant said it showed I was in AF then a short one a few days after that but not sure since.
Well if your EP thinks that’s best a 2nd one than you should go for it
Just made appointment with GP to discuss, mind you that's in a couple weeks. I would prefer to postpone but I'll see what he says.
Yeah have a discussion and see what’s best, who made the appointment for the 2nd abalation?
My last two ablations were 6 months apart (September 2018 and March this year). The September one fixed my flutter but not the AF. Despite a cocktail of medication my AF couldn’t be controlled and I was in a bad way so there wasn’t any other options. Thankfully now I’m doing great.
I had an ablation for atrial flutter October 2017 followed by an ablation for atrial fibrillation in the January 2018 .The EP listed me for the 2nd ablation immediately after my first one.Have since had a 3rd ablation (March 2019) for atrial tachycardia. Are they both for the same arrythmia or different arrythmias ?.I'm sure you will be fine.Good luck with it all .
I had mine six months apart, last July and this January. I knew the first one definitely did not work and I was worse than before so I was booked in for another which, so far has held tight! I’m sure you will be fine, good luck 👍
My AF returned within 10 days of the first ablation, and was the worse episode I had experienced.
I had my first ablation. a cryo for afib, on 29th Jan 2018. 8 days later developed re entrant flutter and on the 26 Feb 2018 had an RF Ablation to sort the flutter out. Only a month apart - 57.5 years old at the time. They went through the same groin etc but the two procedures were on different parts of by heart. I was very happy they were so close as the flutter was very disabling and I would not have wanted to wait 6 months!
Not had Afib nor A flutter since!
I would do what your EP suggests. He/she will have good reasons.
Best wishes
My 2 would have been a year apart but there was a 5 month waiting list so it became 17 months! Both times I had severe AF episodes after the ablations in the 3-4 month blanking period (one lasting 10 days). They felt different from the AF I had before the ablations which was persistent AF. I was told it was because the heart muscle was irritated by the ablation. Since then it has settled and I get short episodes occasionally. If you are still getting episodes after 5-6 months and your EP is recommending another ablation soon maybe s/he has his reasons? For example, the first ablation may have been a more straightforward PV I and s/he may want to do something more comprehensive working on other parts of your heart which weren't affected in the first one (so won't be healing). You could ask. Good luck anyway!
