I was diagnosed with A-fib 2 years ago. Only gone into A-fib twice, that I know of. Lately, I've noticed swelling in my feet and ankles. Is this common? I'm on Flecainide 100mg twice a day and cardizem CD 180mg once a day. I have a doctor's appointment and will certainly bring this up. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this too.

Swelling in the feet and ankles
Swelling of the legs is apparently common with calcium channel antagonists, like diltiazem.
Thank you oyster! I've been on cardizem for 2 years and just recently have had this swelling and of course since posting this question, the swelling has been dramatically lower. I will ask the doctor at my appointment.
Sounds like the cardizem (Diltiazem). I can't take calcium channel blockers if I want to wear shoes.
I am on the same dose of Flecainide and 240mg Diltiazem CD , I had the same result untill I stopped taking statins and changed my blood pressure medication from Perindopril ( any medication ending in pril ) and switched to Telmisartan ( any ending in artan ) had no swollen feet ever since - I suspect its aggravates the Diltiazem but which one was doing it I dont know as I stopped both at the same time.
I stopped perindopril as it is associated with three fold increase in lung cancer if that runs within your family genes.
I was taking 2.5mg bisoprolol and my ankles swelled but I reduced to 1.25 (on th advice of the ECG cardio person) and no more swelling. Interestingly I've just had a call from the GP surgery to say that they are increasing to 3.75 without seeing me following a letter from the hospital. I've made an appt to see the GP as no way am I increasing the dose without a bloody good reason.
Thanks! I'll see if lower the dose will help
Hi Bob, I am on Calcium Channel Blockers (Tildiem LA) I used to take 300mg daily but ankle swelling was a nightmare so reduced to 200mg (with doctors agreement) and this issue has not gone but reduced to an acceptable level
I thought my swelling was due to meds. Turns out it was a blood clot in my left leg. Had the ER vascular surgery. Found Afib. Give me the med I was taking no swelling. Please have your pulse in your legs checked out. Thought I needed a hip replacement and my feet and legs spasmed all the time and OMG the swelling. I never knew until I was in emergency surgery. Ask. Research. Ask some more. The amount of things I didn't know almost killed me. Apparantly my GP didn't know them either. Lord help us Drs and Lawyers.
My ankles and feet started swelling around the beginning of 2018. I always remember having a little but it got worse at about the same time my exercise tolerance decreased. Fast forward to today - my swelling is back to pre 2018 levels after the ablation I had last December.
