I wanted to reach out to all the amazing and resilient people on this site who help and empower each other to improve their overall health and quality of life. I am also so grateful to you all for the kind things that you have said about me and of course to Steve for sharing some of my youtube offerings. One of your very lovely kind members did ask me to post some of my videos directly onto here and i did promise her i would but got caught up with my ailing dad's health. Thankfully he is much better and I was keen to keep my promise so as long as i am not treading on anyone's toes, i would be very happy to share any more content i produce with all of you. I have recently published this video which may be of interest.
As always a superb and informative video from you. Thanks so much. One thing came to mind.An excho. is only as good as the person/cardiologist interpreting the info. from it .....and ...who then gives that info. in a way that is helpful and makes sense to the patient. Also, most NHS hospitals do not/will not give the patient any documentation which might help their GP to explain the findings to them. How to overcome that?
And my understanding is that some apsects are very much personal interpretation by the operator such as whether any regurgitation is "trace", or "mild" . Curious why you say no documentation as I have always had copies of any tests and reports. This is your right I believe. Mind you much as I love my GP she usually askes me where AF is concerned. lol 😁
Been told the info. belongs to the hospital!Even my GP cannot get to see some reports. You must have better 'luck'.My hospital is John Radcliffe ,Oxford.
You been sold a red herring. The tests and results belong too you as you have paid for them, whether NHS or private. You may have to pay a small fee £10 for a cd of an echo or printouts etc BUT you are entitled to YOUR results. Worst case request them officially under DPAct. Although in my experience when no copies of results are available is because they have been lost or in the echo incident the pics were not clear enough to make a decision but operator too busy to redo them.
It is good of you to contribute directly to this forum. This will be appreciated by many of us.
Many who visit here find your videos have been an inspiration and I know tha regular contributors value your opinion.
AF can impact on quality of life so much but many of us find the comfort and support here helps in a significant way when the mind games become intolerable.

I may be in deepest Croatia where Wi-fi only seems to work on Tuesdays and Fridays (I jest), so not sure if this reply will make it, but your videos, mainly thanks to Steve, have been incredibly helpful to the folks on this forum. My only worry is what is Steve going to do now you have made him redundant!! 😉
How lovely to see you posting your talks on our forum Sanjay. We appreciate the time you give to produce these and help us understand all there is to know about AF. This one is very informative as usual.
We say kind things about you, because you are even kinder and thoughtful to the needs of we people who may be worrying about our AF. You satisfy our desire to know just what our hearts are doing and how we can help ourselves.
Welcome to the forum Sanjay - it is great to ‘hear’ from you firsthand, so to speak.
Your videos have been a source of reassurance and practical help to so many of us and have certainly helped me to cope with the physical and psychological aspects of heart rhythm problems. Thanks to Steve for posting them.
I hope you can find time to be part of our community - where you do find so much time to be so helpful is amazing and is really appreciated.
Thank you so much for all the videos you have made about AF, I have found them informative, easy to understand and they helped to take away my fear.
Thankyou Dr Gupta for being such an advocate for all of us having various issues with out hearts. A fib. group here is extremely helpful and anything you can do to broaden our understanding is much appreciated. So happy to hear your father is improved, not much more upsetting than an ailing loved one💜
Great video. First i've seen as not a regular on here. I have some queries.
My history first...got real fat then got a chest infection and a 48hr diarrhoea ended up in AF with RVR. Bloods showed low potassium and amiodarone drip stopped the madness
I was in A&E training and a colleague called me to see a patient in AF...who had had every drug thrown at him and two cardioeversions with no result. They were prepping him for ablation which he clearly didn't want to do. I piped up about trying 3g magnesium over 15mins followed by 1g/hour. 15 minutes later he was in Normal Sinus.
Was this a one of? Or is AF a conduction issue best managed with conduction minerals?
Simple sugar takes magnesium out our system and most medications take magnesium out our system plus magnesium itself is a calcium channel blocker.
Reminds me of the case where young person in constant cardiac arrest, till one guy put up parental feeding, resolving the Over dose of local anaesthetic!
What a super video Dr Sanjay, my cardiologist here in South Africa, also has the first name Sanjay! Could you perhaps direct me to one of your videos that explains these tests carried out by my Dr Sanjay when I go for an annual review . They are itemised on my account,as follows:-
1) Cardiac examination plus doppler colour mapping.
2) Cardiac examination (MMmode)
3)Cardiac examination 2 dimensional
4) cardiac examination + doppler
If there are videos explaining these tests, if would be so helpful. As you can understand, there is a shortage of specialists in South Africa, and I hate to detain him longer during my consultation asking a lot of questions when he has a waiting room full of people. I know you too are very busy, but I am hoping you may have made videos explaining these tests,
Just a quick message Sanjay to say how much I value your videos and you sharing your knowledge and time. On a personal note look after yourself - you work in a high pressure field and never easy when you are face with issues in your own life. Pleased your Dad has improved and remember the many people on here who value and think of you. Best wishes.
Thank you Doctor Gupta for all your very informative videos. Would be interesting to hear from you on the connection between AF and cardiac fibrosis. Does ablation arrest the development of fibrosis, or is it a progressive problem?
Many thanks for all the informative videos you take the time and trouble to make, they are my go to place when ectopics are being very bothersome. My anxiety levels drop significantly as I listen to you explaining and the advice given re breathing etc. I hope your dad's health remains stable, it is such a worry when parents become ill.
Thank you so much. It is so helpful to understand what the doctor is learning from the echo - which I don't know about, and which he doesn't tell me. I will appreciate them all the more now (both the echos and the doctors!)
