Finally, after what has seemed like an eternity, my ablation date has arrived....7.30am tomorrow morning will find me in Papworth!
I will have ablations for flutter and fibrillation.
I took quite a while to decide to go ahead with the ablations as I was coping quite well with 'episodes' - and I find the thought of the actual procedure and the possible risks and after effects quite daunting - especially as I live alone.
However so many of you on here have posted positive messages after your own ablations that I am now confident that I have made the right decision for my long term health and chance of a drug free future.
So thank you all very much for the support you offer to all of us, and thank goodness for the AFA!
Kind regards,
Angie.

Wishing you a successful ablation and easy recovery. Remember to be very kind and gentle with yourself as you recover. No matter what they call it, it is still heart surgery. Be your healthiest self with your improved heart!
You will be fine and remember not to expect too much too soon. I was fine with the actual procedure and no after effects around entry point or GA but it took 5 months for my heart to heal/settle down. I thought it had failed but here I am two years later - no AF and no meds except anticoagulant. So glad I had it done as life is 100% better without AF.
Hello, I hope all goes well with your ablation. I had my ablation on Thursday the 5th of November and up to now feel really well post op'. I know it is early days but it is wonderful to have a regular pulse.
Good luck!! it will be all over in a nanno second and hopefully will give you a better quality of life.
