So, I saw my EP today and he has said that I'm a perfect candidate for a Cryoablation. It seems the waiting list in Bristol is only three months. I'm having my knee replaced in around two, and am wondering whether I should delay the Cryoablation for a little longer. Hast anyone else had the two done quite close together?

Cryoablation
Personally I would have thought it better to get rid of AF by having the ablation before the knee job as it is much easier for all concerned if you are not in AF. I know people who have been refused operations on the day due to not being in NSR. Just a thought Cally.
Thank you for your reply BobD. I did ask the consultant about that when I saw him. He said that if I was in AF on the morning of the op I could take my flecainide which does stop it reasonably quickly and he would move me to do it later in the day, which I thought was very accommodating of him. He added that as long as my heart rate became stable he would be happy to do it.
I'm wondering how long to leave it after my knee op to have the ablation - or vice versa! I just don't want either of them to get in the way of each others recovery!
