I was diagnosed with AF in 2007 but had ectopic beats for years before that and still have them now even though my AF is controlled by Flecainide and Bisoprolol . I have an active job and during the day don't always notice the ectopic beats but once I relax they come on with a vengeance. My last visit to the EP resulted in him telling me that over 24 hours they weren't excessive but during the evening I count around 5/min which is 300/hour and so on . Any opinions?

How many ectopics is too many
My answer to ‘how many is too many’ is when you become symptomatic or they stop you from doing things. The only time I had ectopics was just after ablation and it was like a huge STOP sign held up to my face. I rested and they went away.
May I also suggest you look at improving your vagal tone which may help and look at stress management, rest & relaxation and sleep. Interesting you notice them only when at rest - does that mean you have them when at rest or only notice them?
I get 10 a 12 a minute = 720 an hour on bad days, it's to many for me but so far no treatment as my Cardio said he doesn't know of any med which will help without causing bradycardia and worse symptoms, I'm having more test so will see what happens.
i found that magnesium taurate has helped my ectopics.
I was getting 30,000 - 40,000 a day and this led to my heart not knowing what to do and when to beat etc. I ended up with Heart Failure at level 4 because my left ventricle wasn't pumping enough out before it got the next signal.
