I sit here feeling completely normal and happy, but my heart is kicking out nearly as many ectopics as normal beats. I can't say for sure, but I don't think I had ectopics before I had AF, so I think there has to be a connection.
Based on recent experience, this amount of ectopics is my precursor to AF.

It just occurred to me that your trace reminds me of mine when I tried to reduce Flecainide last year, except mine were PVC's. Dreadful, debilitating carry on - I feel for you.
Have you eaten or drunk anything which might have irritated your heart? I think sometimes ectopics are a protest from the heart that it objects to something. I think you said that the breathing technique doesn't seem to work with you, but might it reduce the frequency of the beggars perhaps?
I did drink 1.5 pints of beer last night. I rarely drink at all these days. It's possible that has something to do with it. I'm not a big fan of the ectopics either. There's one variant that hurts my stomach and throat when it happens. Not pleasant!
I have frequent Ectopics, and mine is not a precursor to AF ( It will be interesting to hear what the other people on the group say)
My Ectopic is almost always linked to 1. Drinking alcohol (even if it is not that much) and 2. overeating. It's then that the vagus nerve kicks in and causes the ectopics.
I suggest trying the breathing technique again, Dr Gupta did a video on it.
Ectopics are a real misery. I was getting 30,000 to 40,000 a day and my quality of life was poor. Hardly any sleep. That amount of extra beats meant that my heart was damaged and didn't know what it was doing and I was diagnosed with Heart Failure at level four. (God's waiting room.) Medication got it down (eventually) to about 20,000 a day. I won't bore everyone by repeating my story here but if you search for my posts on iodine you might find it helps.
Hi George what medication are you on I may have to have my 3rd ablation this year as my ectopics are nearly as bad as yours do u follow a diet i tried Iodine with no improvement how long did u have to take it before you noticed a difference i have tried also magnesium calcium all with little success, any advice will be much appreciated.
I can only drink gluten free beer. Had to go completely gluten free to get rid of my ectopics. I do not have celiac only a sensitivity to gluten. My naturopath suggested I eliminate gluten and now I've been gluten free for 1.5 years. The only time my ectopics went crazy during that year and a half was after a beer (gluten full) my heart was crazy for 5 days. Also aspartame will set mine off for at least a day.
I take 5mg of Ramipril twice a day and 5mg Nebivolol once a day.
I do not follow a diet (I'm 6'4" and fifteen stone so just about right) and I have pint of Guinness most nights as well as the odd glass of wine (I make my own.)
The only thing I restrict is salt as I was advised to do this to prevent fluid build-up.
My heart problems were attributed to my taking Tramadol for arthritic pain for two years as irregular heartbeats are a known side-effect of this so my "cure" could be specific to what started it off.
I take three drops of nascent iodine from Harmonic Innerprizes a day now and have not had problems with ectopics since I started doing this. My last 24 hr monitor showed less than 400 a day and my heart failure is now at level one as my heart has gradually healed itself.
I started on three drops a day then built up to six a day over a fortnight then went gradually back to three drops a day.
There are basically two type of ectopics: Atrial and ventricular. According the the literature and my experience affibbers usually have a burst of atrial ectopics (also called Premature Atrial Complex or PAC) before the onset of the afib.
However the ectopics on your ECG don't seems to be PAC, because the sum of the length of the two abnormal beat is equal to the sum of two normal beats.
I have ventriculer ectopics as well. Even I can feel when I have it. In my case aggressive blood pressure control can supress the ventricular ectopic burst.
