AF following ablation

I had an ablation for PAF 9 days ago. Since then have been flipping in and out of it which I know is quite normal. About 24 hours ago, I flipped in and it is still very irregular. I keep having dizzy episodes and have central chest pain. Not sure what to do as I know this can be normal? Help!

I'd be inclined to call your doctor. They'll know best what you should do.

You need to ring NHS111 now for advice. Don’t assume that your chest pain is related to your procedure, even if it may turn out to be. Central chest pain always raises the possibility of angina or heart attack.

Speak to the arrhythmia nurse where you had the ablation done. You should not be having chest pain after 9 days. AF events at this stage of recovery are normal but any pain should be gone by now.

It could be a sign of inflammation. I ended up back in hospital 2 weeks after my ablation with chest pain and rapid AF and then was diagnosed with pericarditis and gastritis. Hopefully yours is a simpler explanation but have it checked out just in case.

There will be pain! I had all sorts of trouble with various pain including chest pain. Only ring the heart nurses where you had the ablation and only take advice from the doctor that did the op. He will check fir vagus nerve damage or phrenic nerve damage. Also they have to puncture into your heart and can damage it so let them check it out! Like someone said you may have a infection also. Do not get fobbed off, keep ringing the nurses. Steve

I would phone the arrhythmia nurse and chat to them they'll tell you what to do. X
