Flecainide for ectopics

I take flec as a pill in the pocket but wondered if taking it daily (apart from preventing afib) also stops ectopics. Thanks for your help. I find this site a wonderful place for information and support.

I’ve only ever taken Flecainide as 2 x 100mg daily and it hasn’t stopped my ectopics. But - we are all different, so what applies to one, may not to another.

Nine months ago I was changed from Bisoprolol to Nebivolol and at the same time I started taking magnesium daily. Since then, my ectopics have decreased dramatically - could be coincidence but I think the magnesium has helped. Horrible things, ectopics - try also slow, deep belly breathing for at least five minutes, it does work in many cases.

Thanks Finvola. I also take magnesium 75mg twice a day. I use natural rhythm from the USA but last few days the ectopics have been fairly regular. For me anxiety can be an issue but I’ll try the breathing you suggest. I can just about handle the ectopics as long as the dreaded afib stays away. I’ve changed my diet and given up alcohol ( and ibuprofen) and so far (touch wood) I seem ok. Last afib episode was just before Xmas and landed me in a&e. My cardio has advised that I don’t need to go on any regular medication but I was just wondering if it would completely stop the ectopics if I did.

Here’s a link to Dr Gupta’s explanation of the breathing technique:

Hi awful ectopic just awful I have Paf and take flecainide 50 mg x 2. I then developed ectopics in October and that was horrible. So my cardiologist prescribed propranolol I take 80mg x 3 completely sorted out the ectopics no longer. Also propanalol work on the brain so has drastically helped my anxiety. I know this might change but for the time being I am grateful. My cardiologist took me off bisoprolol 5 mg and replaced it. I actually feel calmer and although a bit tired try for 8000 steps a day. Best wishes Chris
