Many of us prefer to stay on anticoagulation for life but it really depends on your other risk factors and CHADSVASC score.
My ablation was a success but was told I will be on riveroxaban for life good luck with your second ablation .
My second ablation was 27/2/18 and still holding apart from 3 very short (15-30 seconds) very fast runs. I saw consultant in July and I wanted to go through all meds, he took me off of Dronedarone, spironlactone and lansaprosal but all the others I had to stay on and he gave me his reason why, and apixaban is one , he said it’s better to be covered in case I go back into persistent af and didn’t realise or in case of any irregularities occasionally and because I had a heart attack in 2015.
Everyone is different, so it is what you and your consultant think is best for you .
Good luck with the ablation I’m nearly at my first birthday 🎂 and long may it continue.
Kind regards
Sharon
I think depends on your chadsvac score if you stay on for life, but I would prefer to stay on myself. Good luck xxxx
