Going for a heart health check up at my GP Surgery, they want me to get blood and urine tests prior to visit! Can anyone advise exactly the tests they will require? I am on holiday and can get the tests done here as we land back day before appointment??

My yearly check ups are as mentioned just ticking the boxes to ensure all is well, but they are important. It's a good move to ask for your cholesterol level while they are taking blood, if it's over 5.0 then you'll need to plan to reduce it 👍 take care.
And for the men PSA please. Saved my life.!
Yes have it, but it is not always accurate.

"About 15 out of every 100 men with a normal PSA level have prostate cancer. About 75 out of every 100 men with a raised PSA level do not have prostate cancer."
Maybe true but if raised they can keep watch and when it gets into the 30s they start to really look for it! Mine had spread into the surrounding area but only found after four biopsies the last being transperinial as it was round the front and traditional methods could not reach it.
Some men have a type that doesn't show a raised PSA and my husband was told that warfarin can skew the PSA result.
Be vigilant you guys.
I have had an enlarged prostate for 10+ years and regular talk in the Press etc about in your 60's get regular checks, I thought I was being responsible by visiting my urologist. He did the usual digital check -OK, then said as it had been 5 years I should have my PSA checked. I said if I do what level is an issue, he said 'around 5' mine came out at 4.1 up from around 1. Then I went to see my GP for a general opinion and he was not concerned saying 'Why visit a surgeon when there is nothing wrong'! So now left with should I recheck it in 6 months or just get on with life?? Any suggestions welcome.
PS For those that are not up to speed with the procedures, if the medics are concerned they now suggest an MRI scan first before any biopsies
Thanks for all responses and will follow advice.
