Hello, my name is Scott and I was diagnosed with AV nodel reentry back when I was 18 and still in Highschool. Now 9 years later I am diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tach and daily PAC. The PACs started after the ep study I had 2 weeks ago and I never had them before. Ideas?

I take metroporal 75mg daily and 2x a day of 50mg of Flecainide. Would love to meet some others and how they get through life with anxiety and the fear of not going to live a long life at my young age.

Hey Scott. I’m 33 years old with para Afib. I’m on Flecainide 100mg twice a day. I still get the occasional ectopics and flare up of tachycardia/ Afib. Only had it for about 6 months but there are some folks on here who have had it for 30 years. As long as your doing everything you can to help yourself what else can you do? I still get anxious. Your not alone bro!

I really appreciate the fast response and the uplifting words. It’s been rough recently and the oddest thing happened after I had my EP study. I came out of surgery feeling fine. The next two days I felt fine and then out of no where is had all day, every 5 minutes a Premature atrial complex. Aka a PAC. I doubt a EP study would cause this.

Hi Scott - You ask how people with Arrythmia get through life with anxiety and fear - unfortunately anxiety. Is the bed fellow of Arrythmia ias and there are good physiological reasons for this - the Autonomic Nervous System or ANS.

I found learning how this works and physiological symptoms you experience really helps because then you can observe the sensations in a new light and not worry about them and that is the secret - increasing body awareness and knowing what it means and not worrying. There are 2 parts to anxiety - the physical and the cognitive or the ‘worry thoughts’. The sensations can be uncomfortable but not serious but when we feel the sensations if we start to worry - the sensations increase - and it becomes a viscous circle.

You need to break that cycle and I find that understanding, knowledge and daily practice of Mindfulness really helps.

If you do a search for ‘anxiety’ in the search box you will find that everyone here has had that experience and you may read how we all deal with differently but generally doing something you enjoy which produces endorphines will help so for some it will be music or art, others exercise or a hobby, Mindfulness, walking, Yoga, reading etc, etc.

I did some minor research about six months ago and these were the replies:-

Not sure how those particular symptom manifest, but if you can see the occasional ectopic, runs, blips, and thrills as relatively normal events, however startling, it helps with the worry and anxiety. Many of us have experienced these since youth but didn't investigate until it became a full-time problem (as I and several relatives experienced). In the meantime, healthy lifestyle choices, especially, if possible, aerobic cardio exercise to strengthen the entire heart muscle (doc told me "it likes to be busy" when I noticed going back into NSR if I started exercising), you will probably die of old age or something else entirely unrelated. Try to avoid emotional stress, but otherwise short of what you are doing, or an ablation if/when appropriate, there's not much else for it.
