2 months after my first Cryoablation.

The recovery continues to head in the right direction I'm pleased to say, I had my Cryoablation on 7th September 2018 and since about the third week after the procedure my symptoms took a turn in the right direction.

I still get several (less than 20 most days) palpatations but no runs of AF at all which has been a great relief. I have felt great some days and it has made me realise how low I had become energy wise. I am sticking to my strict routine of zero alcohol & caffeine, eating small-ish meals as often as needed but never after 6pm, staying hydrated, take moderate exercise, have plenty of rest when tired, try to stay relaxed and stress free, control anxiety. There's a lot of restrictions but they are healthy ones and I want to give the procedure it's best chance of being successful, having sampled life without daily problems I want to try and keep it that way.

That's about all to report at the moment, I'm back in full time work and keeping everything crossed for the future, I'm always on here having a nosey and will try to contribute whenever appropriate. Take care all and best wishes, Dave ❤

Glad it’s going so well. I had four weeks of permanent flutter, then ablation then two days feeling like I had a truck go over me then permanent fibrillation started as a by product of the ablation. Two more weeks of that then catheter Cardioversion (think my Consultant has seen as much of my groin as my wife has) and come Friday it will be four weeks of normal rhythm. Some good days some a bit less fun but having the Kardia makes all the difference. The moment you think “OMG its back” click on it and Normal for Norfolk. Early days and being new to all this at 62 and fit, just assumed quick ablation and job done. Not so. I also discovered you do need to tell the DVLA and insurers if you have Ablation. This forum is a great site, makes me feel in relative terms how lucky I have been and there are ways of managing a normal lifestyle

Excellent news!

I'm now 6 months clear of AF, I too have had some eptopics and palpitations, I have found that taking magnesium turate has seemed to calm things down.

Hope you continue well in your recovery

I know what you mean about feeling like a truck hit you...for two weeks after ablation I swore I'd never do that again, but 5 weeks out, a different story. Only one episode and with cutting back on alcohol I think it's going to last! Feeling fortunate to have chosen the procedure over continuing on expensive Multaq.

Great to hear things are good for you - I had catheter ablation on August 29th & am feeling pretty much as i was before AF struck last year. last few weeks of Apixaban & then hoping for green light & goodbye to AF !

And good to see you’re a biker too, albeit it not a sit up and cruise one like mine, hence Slim which is my Harley model not my physique
