I'm 90 days post ablation and about to put on a 30 day Event monitor at the same time I stop Amiodarone. Any insight about what to expect for wearing the monitor, as well as stopping the medication? TIA

Was surprised to hr you are having a 30 day event monitor post ablation. I was only monitored twice within a year post ablation with a 24 hour monitor. Did you get an explanation 're the 30 day requirement?

I had a couple of AFib episodes post ablation that I was unable to quantify at the time so I think he really wanted a good record post ablation if what I had been experiencing. Also, not sure if the Amiodarone takes about a month to get completely out of the system?

Wonderful. Certain episodes do not occur daily etc. My SVT would never have been found if I wore a 24 - 48 hr monitor. Mine was detected on a 30 day monitor. Six months later I was symptomatic again and wore 30 day monitor which showed all was well. Both times were valuable: ablation first time. peace of mind second time.

I have finished my 30 day event monitoring and have been told by a nurse that they detected no atrial fibrillation! They said there were occasional PVCs and PACs. I won't be seeing my EP for a couple weeks but wondering if I should be worrying about those. Yes, I worry quite a bit in general. Lol
