Over the last week I've felt unwell. Thought perhaps a cold coming on but also horrible back pain with my right leg aching and right foot swelling.
Then 3days ago a frequent urge to visit the loo so thought of cystitis and got the usual sachets from the supermarket. I then started passing blood quite badly.
Instantly panicked as on apixaban and thought how the hell can they stop this kind of bleed!?!?
Now on antibiotics which I've never head of before (nitrofurantoin) and in less than half a day my symptoms have eased dramatically. I'm so pleased I have a gp who knows me very well and calmed me down. He sent my prescription electronically (newly set up) and had my script in 5mins as pharmacy is literally over the road from me.
So now feel a bit of a fool for thinking I was going to die from cystitis! 🙄X

Your not alone DD, most of us become more sensitive to everything that happens to our bodies. In many ways it’s a good thing to be aware of any changes so try not to worry.....better to be safe than sorry......
I worry also as I have poor proprioception, couple that with arthritis and I'm regularly patching myself up, especially fingers when using knives to prepare food. I also walk into things a lot. Much to the amusement of my family 🙂
Thank you. I'm trying not to overreact. I feel quite vulnerable. I've had a long run of bad luck and other issues and actually starting cognitive therapy. Not hopeful any of it will help. I try not to contact my gp. Putting plasters over small cuts is one thing but something internal can't be patched as quick clearly
Thank you. It was more the panic over the cystitis. It was quite bad and very red as opposed to pale when I was going to the loo. Finger cuts I can cope with. It's the bigger injuries as I fall that I'm more concerned with. Touch wood nothing too bad so far.
Very interested that you say about feeling hot though. I am feeling that. Quite annoying since I had a radical hysterectomy at 42 so went through menopause in roughly 6months so have been symptom free (no hot flushes for almost 18yrs now.
I have an appointment to get checked over with the nurse at my surgery so making sure I attend as I've missed several appts and not been seen for nearly a year now. (too busy with disabled daughter and 87yr old mum as full time care role with these two).
